Jayden sits at her computer and stares at the words as she reads them over for the third time. October was right, she was pissed, but not at her. At herself. She resists the urge to lash out and leaves the room. Ten minutes later she’s sitting on October’s steps trying to get the nerve to go inside. Instead she texts her “Jayden: I’m outside.” The tears started on the way there but had yet to stop so she swipes a hand over her eyes and sighs as he head falls into her hands. By the time the door comes open she’s staring off somewhere into the street. “Okay.” she says when she hears October behind her.
