Piece Brewery and Pizzeria
When we started this little project I knew that it would be a great learning experience for me, I am happy to say that the first real lesson that was taught came from Brandon himself. What was that lesson? Piece Brewery and Pizzeria is amazing!! From the salad that started our meal to the growler that I am working on right now, nothing disappointed.
Unfortunately Brandon did not join me for the meal (my wife and I meet some friends there), however, he is the one who gave the glowing review and informed me that I had to try it. This recommendation came about six months ago, well before he took the dive into craft beer, while he still had has hand wrapped around that vortex bottle. Even at the point he told me that he was happy to put down the swill that he enjoyed oh so much and pick some full flavor beer. In retrospect this is the time that I should have shoved him to craft beer. While I missed that opportunity, I am glad that he shoved me to Piece.
First of all the pizza is amazing. We had a sausage and pepperoni traditional pizza alongside a mashed potato and bacon pizza. I know the later may sound a little odd but it was great. I highly recommend it. I also recommend their beer.
I had three beers while I was there:
Camel Toe – Imperial IPA – ABV: 9.5%
Anniversary Ale – American Strong Ale – ABV: 10%
Dysfunctionale - American-style Strong Pale Ale - ABV:6.5%
While I am not going to get into each beer I will say that I enjoyed all of them and I cannot wait to make my second trip to Piece. They have a lot of beer that I did not get to enjoy and that needs to be rectified.
My other recommendation for all who frequent Piece is to get a growler to go. I cannot stress this enough. Not only do you get amazing beer to enjoy at home, you get it at an amazing price. You also get to take your growler (pictured above) back to Piece and get it refilled. This is my first experience with growlers and I wish more places in the area did growler fills. I know from now on I will be seeking them out.
Brandon, I just want to say thank you.
