If Abby had lasted a few weeks longer, I could see her easily reaching the top half of this list. In the brief time we saw her, she showed she had potential, the ability to photograph well and walk decently. Of the bunch, she had one of the best looks: gorgeous face with massive hair. Even after they butchered her at makeovers she still looked good. Her elimination still baffles me, as up until that point she had produced one great, one decent and one mediocre shot. Her performance had been great up until that point, and it really does seem so confusing to cut her at that point.
Of her three shots, I think there is a pretty clear ranking. She did get slightly worse with time, but not to the point anything should be read off it. Her swimwear shot still fascinates me. The face is so adorable, with the body just having that little bit of sex appeal. If I had any concerns it was that it does look quite different from Abby, which may not be the best for a promo shot. As a fashion shot though it is perfect. Her final shot was noticeably vacant, but I still think she is beautiful here. No one in the shot jumps out, so Chloe still holds her ground. The gnarled hand is the weakest element, but that would be so easily cropped out.
Ultimately Abby is left with a couple of questions. Those being unanswered is what hesitates me from putting her higher than 8th. Her shoots did all fall under the same sort of banner: cute and pretty. There isn’t much versatility in the 3 shots, so while I believe she can do so much more, I have no proof of that. The other is that she seemed a bit hesitant and quaint; that is the justification I associate with her elimination. Even that is something that might have grown with time. I could easily see Abby being too cautious, and just not really throwing herself in. That would be a problem later in the competition, but I don’t think it should be the only reason to cut someone so early. Both of these queries could have been answered had Abby survived a little bit longer, but unfortunately we will never know if Abby really had the star power, or if the judges were right in cutting her prematurely.
