HII BABY!!
I just found out that you write for Assassin’s Creed, and as a fan myself, I have to ask if you could create something with Edward Kenway x reader, since Assassin’s Creed Black Flag resynced is now out 😼
I give you complete freedom…I just wanted to revive the fandom (and read something new, lol)
No Getaway ~ Edward Kenway x GN!Reader
A/N: Reviving the fandom is one of my specialties ! It's been a hot minute since I played AC4, so I apologize in advance for any inaccuracies D: I don't have the resources rn to get the resynced version. Let's gooo !
Just a lil blurb ~1k words

The sun beat down on your skin as you walk along the coastal line; the sand slipping between your toes as you opted to take off your shoes to feel the cool and moist sand beneath you. You welcomed the breeze, salty and rough as it whips past your face, drying the light sheen of sweat that gathered along you brow.
It was one of your rare days where you weren't needed at your job; the household wouldn't fall apart without you there for one measly day. So, you decided it was the perfect opportunity to spend your hard earned coin at the market on some new clothing, as well as a present for your mother. But it seems your spending habits have attracted a wrong pair of eyes.
Faster than you could react, a burglar grabbed your belongings in full sprint, making you spin around as well."Hey, that is mine ! " You manage to yell after them, but to no avail. Before you can take up pursuit, a man in light armor bolts past you "Oi ! Give that back, you scum !"
You don't see much detail of him, other than his swords clinking at his sides with every move. You chase after them as quikly as you can, but they are faster than you, and you have to stop and lean against a house wall. As you try not to cry, you sink down to sit in the dirt. The bastard took all of your belongings, including unspent coin that you were planning on saving up for emergencies. Now, all you can do is crawl back home, disappoint your mother tomorrow with yet another selfmade gift rather than a valueable one, and stay clothed in the rags you still own.
Rubbing your hands over your face, you push your head back against the shaded house and open your eyes, to see the man from before standing before you, albeit bent over by the waist. He holds out your satchel "Got 'im." He explains breathless, as his heavy accent shines through.
With no hesitation, you grab the bag out of his hand and check inside. It's all still there. Unbelievable. Your gaze strays back to the man, who is still trying to catch his breath it seems. Hands to his waist now, his looks up to the skies. Crystal clear today.
"Thank you so much... but... why did you help me ?" You question him, and he ponders for a moment, before answering "Helping the helpless, that's what I do." He preens, looking down and gifting you a small smile. He is a handsome fella, sure, but not many people here have that kindness in their heart. To be honest, he doesn't really look the type either, the coat he wears fits a pirate, the boots those of a captain.
"I don't know how to repay you, stranger." You admit sheepishly as you stand back up. "You can have the coins I have left."
"Nah, don't bother. I took my pay from the bastard along the way. My name's Edwards by the way." Ah, so not simply just a nice man, just nice to you.
You tell him your name, and he offers you his hand to shake. Taking it firmly, you shake it twice, before retracting your hand. "Thank you, Edward. If you need a place to sleep for the night or a warm meal, you are always welcome." You offer him, finally believing the way he holds himself as some kind of hero to the small people.
Edwards regards you for a second, before staring out at the water. "Do you like the sea ?" He asks then, stunning you for a second.
"Yeah, I grew up here. It's part of my life." You tell him truthfully.
"Would you like to repay me by joining in on our adventure ?" Edwards suggests, and you think he is joking. Yet he looks determined.
"You want me to sail with you ? Why ? I have no qualifications whatsoever."
"Something is telling me you're a quick leaner. You yearn for adventure. For freedom. Spending your coin wisely, but you want so much more." Edward states.
He is right. You do dream of more. Adventure. Friends. Companionship. Riches.
"Doesn't everybody do that ?" You want to know.
"To an extend. But only few take up the courage to do it. To actually seek it. Come with me, get to know me, and my crew. And if you're not convinced then, I won't bother you again."
"Are you flirting with me, Edward ?" You look at him with a sly smile.
"Maybe." HE smirks.
"Very well. When do we start ?"
Edward laughs, taking your hand, pulling you with him towards the sun.
"Right now."
