literally what the fuck is this?!?!? 1, asexuality and celibacy are not the same thing. 2, positioning celibacy and “ace-core” as not normal???

I’m quite fond of the fanon ace Jiang Cheng, but I don’t think he’d be sex-adverse, more sex-neutral to... ‘hey, if it makes you happy I’m comfortable doing some things with you specifically.’

However, I also think the man is the most touch starved human in cql and because he’s not great with human interaction he ends up being touched very rarely in a positive way, especially once Wei Wuxian is gone. It’s a part of why he’s so agitated before Wei Wuxian’s fall, he really, really, really needs his brother to give him a big hug and then walk through a market with his arm over Jiang Cheng’s shoulders, and the bastard would rather hang abandon all that for people who... aren’t him and Yanli.

By the present setting I’d say Jiang Cheng is the loneliest cultivator around, too busy being terrifying to keep his sect and nephew safe to allow anyone to get too close. Besides, he doesn’t want sex, he wants hugs, what is he a teenage girl, who would want him? (He copes with his sexuality about as well as with anything else, badly)

And then JGS dies and Jiang Cheng finds himself having to comfort Jin Guangyao because no one else is around for some weird reason, and they end up in Jin Guangyao’s rooms, drinking and talking about their losses. Jin Guangyao may even make Jiang Cheng realise what his sexuality is having grown in a brothel and that’s a strange relief, and Jin Guangyao’s hand is resting on his arm.

It’s been so long since anyone has sat this close to him, enjoyed his company, made him feel like Jiang Cheng again...

He senses what Jin Guangyao would like from him, and he wonders,

‘If I let him... will he hold me after?’

LOL coming out as ace is actually pretty difficult! Trust me I thought it wasn't a big deal either! That is until I actually came out as ace and was confronted with the most ridiculous intolerant sludge I have yet faced personally!!! I managed to face less ignorance when I came out to people as bi!! So saying that coming out as asexual is not as bad as coming out as gay is pretty inaccurate as you are only relating to your own experiences and claiming others' experiences as nonexistent!!!

Hello Ace-phobia! How nice to see you spewed all over my dash today. :/

So, a lot of shit has gone down while I've been away at work, I see. As far as I can tell, it's no longer about the word 'queer', but more an all out attack on asexuality. All I see is erasure, and blatant ace-phobia.

I honestly can't even look at the asexual/asexuality tags anymore. I can feel tears coming on, just from all the shit I've been reading in the few minutes of playing catch-up. I wanted to post something about all of the drama that has happened, but now I'm too worn and stressed. Please excuse me while I go try to think happy thoughts.

I'll be back later when my thoughts are more organized, and I've figured out how I feel about all of this.

Oh, okay.

So apparantly "the prejudice against sexual minorities" isn't a very deep thought. It's a shallow topic, not a big issue at all. It pales in comparison to the depth of.. Hendrix. Let me tell you a story: one day my writing class was told to pick a theme/issue and write three poems on it (a Shakespearean sonnet, an extended metaphor and one of your choosing). I chose "sexual minorities" as my issue and began writing a sonnet on gender-fluidity. Teacher congratulates me on my ability to write in iambic. Cool story bro. So I write some more of my sonnet, only got the last two lines of the final quatrain to go, and I write my extended metaphor poem on asexuality. Hand them in so the teacher can say that, yes I have been working in class. She reads them through and decides that my issue lacks depth. She called it shallow twice. I explained to her what the issue was - just in case she simply didn't understand it - and no, it lacks depth. It's not a great enough issue to provoke well written poetry apparantly.

Okay so the problem is with my sucky poetry skills then? Well my strength is analytical/non-fiction writing, I'm not so brilliant at the creative process and I've never written a good poem in my life so that's hardly unexpected. What can I do to improve the poems then?

"I don't think that the topic is great enough, it's not very deep so I would recommend you find a new one.. although I don't suppose you have enough time now do you?"

So it's settled, the discrimination and prejudice against sexual minorites isn't a "big issue".

"Maybe you should have a look at some of the poems we read before you started writing; get some new ideas."

The first student-written sonnet she read out to us was about Jimi Hendrix. Apparantly Jimi Hendrix is of higher importance than the awareness of people whose very identites are denied, who are shunned by friends and family, who get beaten on the streets because they don't fit society's expectaions of what people are.

I would have fought with her about this, but I was too close to tears to say more than "Fine" before walking off.
