During an 8th grade school trip whenever I was on the bus I would sit with my extremely tired friend. She slept and I listened to music or read... What was I reading? Fuckass the song of Achilles. At some point one of my teachers passes by and he's like "oh cool watcha reading" proceeds to SNATCH the book from my hands, read the description, give me the stupidest smirk ever and spend the rest of the trip calling me Patroclus.

So if you're interested, the reasons as to why I have contrasting opinions on this book are:

I like the author's writing, I don't like Patroclus' characterization, my teacher gave me some sort of ptsd that whenever I hear this poor man's name I get war flashbacks.

Achilles: Hm… Probably Phoenix, he was the first to know with Max! He’s my manager so I have to keep him in the loop with any big changes so he can plan our schedule around them. That and he’s my stepdad so I usually go to him with everything anyway, haha.

Patroclus. What was your reaction to seeing achiles for the first time?

Patroclus: I don’t really know what I was expecting, I mean, before Bri dragged me to his party, all she told me was that he was some famous celebrity so I guess I thought he’d be a little… Posh? Eccentric? Stuck up? My genuine reaction seeing him for the first time was ‘this is just some regular guy’. Well, that and I did think he was pretty.
