Yeah there aren’t really any good emojis for “dreams” but I’m committing to the format lol

This was another one that I did pretty quickly! I used another statue as a reference for this one and I think I’m gonna keep doing that. It’s a fun exercise in drawing from a reference and understanding how light interacts with shapes. Here’s the statue that I used:

This angle was rather difficult for me to draw, so while my resulting sketch looked fine, it wasn’t quite right yet. This was the sketch:

To find out what was wrong, I took that picture and the reference and I put them on top of each other in Ibis Paint. From there, I sketched the vague proportions of the statue, compared it to my drawing, and knew where I went wrong.

Truthfully, I still don’t think I got the angle quite right in the final piece, but I fixed my problems with the proportions so I’m happy with that.

I think the angle would have been better executed had I started the hairline a little higher

But yeah! I did a different shading technique this time for funsies. Drawing Apo’s gorgeous design was such a treat!

I’ve already got ideas cooking from Pearl’s episode today, so more art is soon on the horizon!
