One of the few things Liliana hadn’t realized how things with Adam ended all of those years ago. All of Liliana knew how significant Adam had been in her life, making any summer back from college one worth remembering. But it all had taken an emotional toll on her. It had almost felt like she was guilty for this whole thing. Like spending time with him when her conscience had always been elsewhere. Wondering about Jaxon, it had become a sickening reminder after her departure from the other man. The last thing she had wanted was for Adam to think of something else. Then again, she had never known his thoughts about things because she distanced immediately when guilt surfaced upon her. The younger confused and hopeless Liliana had managed to burn bridges after bridges to others, knowing it had been time to properly fix those. Or fix the hearts of those she cared about, knowing these two had never properly discussed the past. Not until her recent contact with Adam after the Masquerade ball. Wherever he went, she didn’t follow him close enough to know what went down in his life. Truthfully, she hadn’t been following any tracks in peoples lives recently. It all returned back to the death of Claire Scott. It lived in her, breathed in her because Claire as her everything, one of her few best friends. All of her motivation had been about sleeping and attempting to be build the pieces up. But these past weeks were making her heart feel heavy and her conscience pondering of theories over who started it all. Appearing at a small coffee shop, the brunette breathed in deeply wondering if it was too late to turn around and crawl into bed. Forcefully picking the foot off the ground, Liliana had proceeded and searched for Adam till see him near. “Hi stranger,” she spoke softly, forcing a smile. “It’s good to see you. Uh, where have you disappeared off to?”
