Just wondering, how to do edit a custom page on your blog?

You have to go into your html and click on add a page, then where it says standard go to custom and then go to a blog like pohroro or any other tumblr coding blog to find a page theme that you like, such as a blogroll or about me page. Even a masterlist page for fics (which would help advance your html skills needed here at the library.)

I did the all w3schools thing that you guys suggested but that's all I can do! What level would you guys suggest I put for the question where it's asks how good you are with HTML from 1 to 10? Thanks!

I would put like a 5 as you know a bit on how to read code and most likely practiced with their online tool. If you edited a custom page on your blog I would put like a 6 now!

I'm thinking of applying, but do i have to use my real name when applying? :)

No! For that we want a name you would like to be called. So if you want your real first name that’s good (I would suggest never giving out your real last name because the internet) but if you want a nickname that’s fine as well.

To clarify, when we ask for your name, we don’t mean last name ever. 

Yeah, but any name you want will do!

Is it okay if i apply only for the summer and then I'll have to leave? Because i have plenty of free time in summer, but then school starts and I'll be super busy :((

I would say apply because this is a great position. In my opinion, as long as you do great and effective work than it would be worth it to take you in as an admin even if it is just for the summer.

Hi, about the admin application, what if im not really good at answering asks but can do the htmls, should i still apply? Also, is there xkit for firefox? Tq.

YES! This job is mostly going to be html work. There are the odds and ends of questions and such but if you are hired in than you could just not answer question and just work on the html. I’m not sure if there is an xkit for firefox or not. I’d check in the app store!

Im scared I'm not going to have enough time to give to this (and I don't want to apply if I can't give enough time) so how many hours a week would you say will be needed to spend on this? Many thanks!

Hi! No need to be scared! I would say having about two hours a day would be good. Since we get asks all the time (as asks are not the main focus of this blog, html is) it doesn’t really matter if you spend five minutes and then log off so long as asks are answered with correct and accurate information. It doesnt really matter if you log in and dont answer said asks if youre unsure how to reply with the most accurate information.

Adding fics and authors to the library shouldn’t take too long once you get the hang of it, but this is the main focus of this blog. So I would say around two hours a day minimum. And it’s fine if some days you wouldn’t be unavailable (for example I’m a CNA who sometimes works 8 hour shifts and all I want to do is crash when I get home, but the next day I’m free for 8 hours). So long as you feel you had contributed a part in the blog in someway that’s good!

There’s no need to be worried about it! I’d apply no matter what!
