- You cannot leave your property. Sometimes, in your yard, you can just see the outside from over the fence; but you never remember it. This house is all you know; it is all you want to know.
- The bathroom is always locked even though there is no one else but you here. You try not to think about whether you can hear anything inside.
- Your partner leaves for work; sometimes they are gone for days. Where are they? What do they do? You don’t know.
- You make lunch for them before they leave; you have the same choices every time. Why can’t you make something else? Is there anything else? Your partner doesn’t mind, they just smile.
- How do you afford to buy things? Your partner and cats bring back hearts. Whose hearts are these? Why are they important? Why do they still beat?
- Your cats come in boxes once you give up hearts; one day you’re scared it won’t be a cat in the box that appears in your house.
- Remember to feed your cats every day. You must remember. They are always hungry, so hungry.
- Sun one day, snow another day. The weather is always changing, and nature is so giving. Hearts are always left for you every morning by something; you try not to think about why as you scrub the blood off your porch.
- You like to take pictures for your photo album; some pictures come out like static though. You wonder what was in those pictures.
- LOVE is on TV again; you watch as hearts spill out of the screen and onto the floor. The screen goes dark. You watch for hours.
