I decided, since I had so much fun before drawing The Angel of Salvation’s cover art, I decided to draw one for the first fic, Up Past Midnight. Being the first fic in the series, it’s the one that, honestly, should’ve been drawn first, but I didn’t have this idea until I finished The Angel of Salvation’s. It’s also the first proper story in the AU, even though technically speaking I had written the original first chapter years ago.

This time, the cover vaguely depicts when Marylin and Adrian (the OC protagonists) sneak out and follow their mother’s (metaphorical) footsteps, heading towards the factory in search for her. I describe it as vague because it’s obvious the Playtime Co. building wouldn’t be that close to where they are, but I found the image a bit more interesting so I drew it like that.

I also forgot to draw their bags, but covers don’t have to be accurate to the story, I guess. :P

Abstraction:

"Abstraction is flying. Abstracting is ascending to higher and higher levels of conceptual generalization; soaring back and forth, reflectively circling around above the specificity and immediacy of things and events in space and time, from a perspective that embeds them in a conceptual framework of increasing breadth and depth, a framework without horizon, ceil-ing, or basement; a framework composed of increasingly comprehensive concepts that generalize over increasingly comprehensive classes of things, organize them relative to one another, unify them into a coherent tapestry, a dizzying object of contemplation the details of which stun one into panic by their connectedness, significance, and vividness.

Abstraction is also flight. Abstraction makes one love material objects all the more."
