for anyone still asking why my mermatriarch’s boobs aren’t floating:
1. it was not important to me
2. it was more important to me to showcase a body type rarely glorified in media, which fundamentally includes the aversion to bodies affected by an average viewer’s immediate perception of gravity
3. i didn’t know when i started it that i’d add an environment around her; it started as a character design exercise, not an illustration
