Prince Harry, The Duke of Sussex with the president of Rwanda Paul Kagame. Prince Harry as President of African Parks has been in Mozambique and Rwanda this last week for a work with African Parks and to host some US Officials (senators and House representatives), conservationists and philanthropists touring wildlife and nature areas.

From the Twitter account of the office of the president of Rwanda: President Kagame received Prince Harry, The Duke of Sussex, who visited Rwanda as part of his work as President of African Parks. The Government of Rwanda has agreements with African Parks to manage Akagera and Nyungwe National Parks.

I shared this last year, but it’s worth sharing again.... 🦏 It's #WorldRangerDay and I want to share something with you that I learned a couple of years ago. You see, I often say that I have dedicated my life to reconnecting people to wildlife and conservation. But when I was in #Kenya and met the Rangers & Anti Poaching Units in @Lewa_Wildlife Conservancy and in @OlPejeta Conservancy... Well, I learned what it really means to dedicate one's life. These brave rangers spend around 24 to 26 days living in the Conservancy patrolling and protecting the area. Then they take a few days off to go home and see family, and then head right back to protecting the wildlife of Kenya. They track animals, search for poachers, work with local communities and give their life to protect the biodiversity and heritage of their home. True dedication. Today is World Lion Day! A day to put a spotlight on these iconic animals for their beauty and importance in Africa’s ecosystem. In recent years, the lion population has decreased. According to @africanparksnetwork, “Their main threats include habitat loss and fragmentation, human-wildlife conflict, loss of prey, and the growing illegal demand for their body parts - bones, skins, and claws.” Thankfully, national parks are working hard to conserve threatened wildlife in these areas. . Through education and voting with our dollar, we can promote conservation for lions and other wildlife across the globe. We care that these animals stick around for many generations to come. . Hope for this rescued pangolin as it's released back into the wild. Aren't they extraordinary? | Repost @garamba_national_park | This was taken a few weeks ago when the young #pangolin that we confiscated from poachers on the Park's western boundary, and were looking after here in #Garamba, was out on a walk looking for termites. Her mother had been killed and she was weak and slightly underweight when the Park rangers brought her in. After spending a month at headquarters gaining strength and weight, she was recently released back into the wild. It was fascinating to get to know her over the month and watch her walk, feed, drink and sleep - Something that is not often witnessed.
