Portland Protest

The journalism we need.

This vid is important to understanding how right-wing media has framed these protests and why conservatives are fearful and decrying them (and Antifa as a whole). They have all the supporting footage they need to craft their narrative by what they choose to include, just as left-wing media has everything they need to strengthen their narrative by what they choose to exclude.

This doesn’t make both sides morally equal. The violence at the Capitol was calculated and organized in a way that BLM most certainly was not, and it should be no surprise left-wing media isn't focusing on looters when attempting to do justice to such a critical human rights movement. But this still causes problems. I'm just trying to bridge the gap with Trump-loving Uncles at Christmas, yet I have no real concept for the media they’re consuming when my own media isn’t showing me the full picture.

All the more reason to seek it out I ‘spose.
