Hey babes! 

I wanted to do a reflection post on my college experience and tell you guys what I learned from all the craziness that is applying to college. I know there's a lot of new appblr peeps and I’m hoping some of my lessons may give you guys an insight and some inspo for your own apps process. So without further ado, here's what I learned from applying to colleges:

You're gonna have to be comfortable with selling yourself to people: I’m sorry for all my shy and soft spoken friends, this part is especially rough but what really stuck with me during the whole process is how you have to know how to effectively list of your attributes at any moment, whether it be written or orally. Get used to it from now because it doesn't stop once you get to college, from your college interviews to your college professors, you'll need to be keeping tabs on what makes you worth other people investing in.

You have where the line between being tenacious is and compromising yourself is: this one goes to the fact that most of us have an ideal school (or schools) that we'd like to go to when the college process starts and believe me when that school call and there's any mishaps or something is due, you will want to bend over backwards and that's fine but for me personally it came to a point with a school where I was just aware that no matter how much I pushed to get stuff down or how I moved around, it was just not gonna happen. Again, you don't wanna give in at the first sign of friction but at the end of the day, it’s just a school and if everything is against you whether it be financially or whatever to not go, maybe that school isn't where you should be at this point in you life.

Sometimes you have to lose what you wanted to see what you have: *hides face* it's cheesy, I know! But it's so true. This is going to sound so bad but I really didn't review any of my acceptances until I got to my Upenn rejection, I was so focused on Upenn that I was getting acceptance and SCHOLARSHIPS  and I didnt even consider them until I got rejected from my “dream school”, I could have almost missed out on some great opportunities all because I was hung up on the idea of going to an ivy. Don't be like me, don't wait until you get rejected before you start considering your options, your mind and your heart should be open the entire app process because that's when you'll truly find out where you should be.

Anyways chicas and chicos, that's my sappy and cheesy reflection of what I gained from the college app experience, its been a few months now and I'm still reeling but I'm hoping to help out some of you cuties with your application journey, I hope you have a lovely day!

hey i’m thinking about agnes scott for college so question: how stoner friendly is it? do a lot of people smoke/is the school super strict on weed? sorry for the weird q lol this is the one thing i can’t figure out

I commented on Rae’s post, but I might give a little more information here. I knew people who smoked weed at Agnes. And I never really heard of anyone getting more than a slap on the wrist for it. However, Agnes has changed A LOT in the last 4-ish years. I graduated in 2016 and I still saw changes starting then. I have talked with some of my friends who went there even after I graduated and they see the same thing. Agnes has been moving from an institution that “educates women to think deeply, live honorably and engage the intellectual and social challenges of their times” into a glorified finishing school. And I can only imagine it is going to get worse now that President Kiss is leaving. 

So, I know that smoking is banned on the campus completely. I have no clue how the current admin is going to react to it currently.
