hey guys! i won't be posting tomorrow. why? you all ask in unison. because, very recently, ads for ai (specifically shapes, but all ai) have been coming up on my fyp and i HATE IT. (here's my personal experience).

ai uses up water, destroys the environment, steals writers work, and does a whole lot of things as an attempt to replace artists, writers and creative works everywhere. and we must step up and stop it. especially with tumblr promoting this shapes ai, that advertises stealing your friends oc's, replacing your REAL LIFE FRIENDS with ai, and that it's 'half ai, half human'. we don't want these ads, or these services.

so, to make a statement to tumblr, we are going to log off on February 26, 2026. that means no shitposting, no rants, don't even open the app. from 12 am to 11:59 pm, everyone who doesn't support ai will be offline. YOU 🫵(yes, you with the gorgeous hair {or gorgeous bald head}) can join this to.

if you don't support ai and you see this in time, turn off tumblr! if it's currently the 26th, it's not too late! turn it off. every person counts who sees this and takes action! I will be transferring all my wips to word so i have fics to write, and will post on the 27th (maybe).

Caution regarding sources.

I just ran across a site called Japanese Mythology Worldwide dot com. The entire web site appears to be generated by AI. I am strongly recommending that you not use this web site for research. AI generated content can not tell the difference between good information, and bad.

It was this image that immediately clued me in that there was something not quite right. This bell was being reported to be at a Shinto shrine despite its strong Chinese appearance. The second clue was that Google image translate can't detect any text despite what appears to be strong bold text.

I then fed it into Google AI and asked the AI: is this an AI generated image?

Yes, this image is likely AI-generated. The visual search results identified the image on stock photo websites where it is explicitly labeled as "Premium AI-generated image" or "Image generated with Generative AI". Additionally, an inspection of the image reveals several subtle artifacts typical of AI generation:Inconsistent Text: The kanji characters on the hanging banner next to the bell appear slightly jumbled or nonsensical upon close inspection, a common giveaway for AI struggles with coherent text generation. Unnatural Details: Certain architectural elements and the interaction between the bell's ornate top (ryūzu) and the wooden structure lack the precision and functional logic of a real, handcrafted object. you are literally creating false memories for her which will further confuse and affect her greatly in such a negative way! you are toying with a vulnerable woman in a position that she cannot take control of because she has, and i repeat, a debilitating, deteriorating illness that literally eats away at her brain!

this just proves how despicable and how horrid of a person you genuinely are, and i am, for one, actually right to be this bloody pissed off! i had a nan with alzheimer's and it broke my fucking heart seeing her not being able to remember her own son! it ached seeing her forget who my own father was! imagine forgetting your own children!

I have no patience and respect for people who still openly use gen-AI while being fully aware of the effects using it has.

I will not be friendly to you if you use gen AI.

The question to people who use it is: when will you start to care? When people have no water left anymore because you wanted to see a naked woman with three breasts?

The ridiculous amount of how many times gen AI has been used to damage other people, especially women and girls in form of AI generated revenge porn, is one of the many reasons to ban all that already and another reason for me to tell men that they need to seek out therapy and stop living out their perverted fantasies on the internet.

I’m not gonna reblog it bc I don’t wanna give op’s post any kind of boost. But if you are going to post ai “art”. At the very least tag it as such. Do not go around posting it like you had created it yourself.

Asking an ai to make “art” for you, let alone copy a specific artist’s art style is horrible. If you make ai “art”. You are actively stealing someone’s livelihood.

It is just as easy to ask an actual artist to draw something for you. There are thousands of artists who would happily do it. Whether it’s an art request or a commission. Hell, you can even pick up a pencil and learn to draw! Anybody can do it. In fact I implore you to take the time to try drawing for yourself. Because asking a bot to do it for you does nothing but create lifeless slop that has no heart or effort put into it.
