"I've been re-hymenated" sure hits less like a joke now that I'm spending time with all my wicked, smart Alastair friends. :(((((
There's nothing so devastating as someone using familiarity and twisting it. Honing in on unhealed wounds, then giving both the validation and mixing in a little corruption bit by bit! I'm of course, talking about @beatsheetromanroy's thoughts on the absurd gentleness of Alastair and his willingness to morph into the very things familiar enough to get past Dean's defenses.
JOHN: Of course I do. I’m your father. (He pauses.) Listen, Sammy, last time we were together, we had one hell of a fight. SAM: Yes, sir. JOHN: It’s good to see you again. It’s been a long time. SAM: Too long. (He and JOHN embrace, crying.

I see what you're missing, and I can't give That to you, but I can make you Hell's sharpest weapon.
ALASTAIR: By the way, it's, uh, good to see you again, Dean. DEAN: You can shoot us all you want, but you can't kill us.
So the very worst season 4 spnwin moment so far that I saw in my head is… isn’t just Alastair leering over Dean’s crib, it’s him before that, in the safe house, from the Mary pov, between her legs as fucked-up midwife, making metaphorical grabby hands for the new baby. The overtones ARE as bad as you think…
Everyone else is outside fighting the Hell that is rising to make a play for the baby Dean, and Mary’s dad and her friends don’t even know that one demon broke through.
They’re all about to die, and Hell knows it’s gonna win, way ahead of schedule. It’s gonna get the new baby, corrupt it, and breed Mary and John in captivity for Sam (“we won’t need cupid love to make that happen”) and Michael’s powerless up there, temporarily locked away in Heaven by the cleverly completed Angel trials… (God is locked away, angels locked away, this one campy throwaway world will be the victory by which all universes fall, all because OG Dean’s too-detailed journal fell into the wrong hands btw…)
But what the demons didn’t account for is that there’s some (rebel) angels that got stranded on the earth, and one in particular John has locked safely inside his Impala… The little spanner in the works.
