MATHS
I will be forever salty that my maths education was so lacklustre. During my entire GCSEs I had a shitty substitute teacher that cared more about his smoke breaks than actually teaching us. And I was bullied during those classes so I could never concentrate.
Now I actually need to do maths. I need to have knowledge equivalent to a year 1 maths undergrad and I got a D and then a C in my maths GCSE. And I have until September next year to do it before my masters degree starts.
I’ve bought a GCSE maths book, then I’ll move on to AS-Level, then A-Level, then finally Maths for Data Science which will get me where I need to be. But from my terrible formal education, I’ve developed an avoidance for maths and I’ve adopted a fixed mindset. I’m trying some exposure therapy for maths as well as change to a growth mindset and hopefully I’ll get there but wow, I have a lot to learn and a lot of anxiety to get over
