And finally, the top 10 movies I've watched this year. As usual, I will be selecting from all the films I've seen throughout the past twelve months, whether they were released in 2025 or not. This time I won't be going into the details of why I chose them, cause I'm too busy with life, but I did notice that like half of them are horror-adjacent or outright horror films. Take that as you will. Anyway, here we go:

Mini-review:

I didn't expect this to hit as hard as it does. It takes an anxiety-inducing concept that speaks directly to my primal fears, and then uses it to explore existential issues that struck a chord with me. Maybe I got it wrong, but based on the stuff the characters talk about, it feels like an allegory of the existential dread that comes with finishing up university and having to enter the 'real' adult world. Alexander Ullom shows some serious skill in what is his film debut. There's one particular scene near the beginning, the one where the concept really starts, that had me holding my breath and almost trembling; that's how scary the atmosphere was. And that feeling never goes away, since the rest of the movie continues to build that distressful vibe in other ways. The cast, made up of unknown actors, also rises up to the challenge, which is key for it to work so well. I still have to put things in perspective, but I think It Ends might be my favorite horror film of the year.
