...which basically turned into an ode to to the fabulous cast...
Okay, so first of all, everyone needs to go see the Hunger Games - it's that amazing.
I really just can't get over how much I adore the casting, I really can't. Jennifer Lawrence is perfect as Katniss. Perfect. She's bring every element of Katniss to the role and does a fantastic job. Plus she looks so lovely and gorgeous with dark wavy hair.
And Josh Hutcherson. He just is Peeta. He seems so sweet and genuine and I love it. Josh and Jennifer have great chemistry, too, in my opinion. Liam Hensworth had a great presence as Gale. He was big and reliable and tough and gritty.
I love Lenny Kravtiz as Cinna. He was exactly the Cinna I imagined, down to the gold eye liner, and can he just be my best friend?
Let's not forget Willow Shields! Oh my stars, when she was screaming inconsolably when Katniss volunteered... MY HEART. That was just so.. intense.
Amandla Stenberg was the most fabulous Rue I could ever imagine. She was innocent and sweet and god, I just cried at her death. Clutching my popcorn while the whole theater sniffled.
Alexander Ludwig was incredible. He was very bloody thirsty and insane and so much like the Cato in the book. At the end his death was painful and very emotional to me because he had just... lost it. He said, "Why does it matter anymore?" and I just felt such sympathy for him I hadn't felt in the books. Also, was I the only one who thought Cato and Glimmer had something going on? Because they looked pretty cozy in the scene before Glimmer died...
Okay, and Isabelle Fuhram is such a fantastic actress. She smaller and more petite then the Clove I envisioned, she's just younger. But I really liked that. She seemed more scared and just much more human than I ever saw her in the books. She was vicious and wild, yes, but I loved how desperate she was. She wanted to live and I actually felt for her.
