The transporter breaks while Spock is down on a hostile planet and Scotty panics. After the whole ordeal is over and Spock is unconscious in sickbay, Scotty doesn’t leave his side
(Excuse me while I fanfic)
This was Scotty’s least favorite part of his job. The uselessness. He’d never done well with idle hands, always had to be tinkering, fixing, doing something, or he went mad.
Things happened in space, things broke, stuff shut down at the worst possible time. And the transporters were a particularly notable example.
The planet below them was a Klingon occupied dilithium mine, and the thing that kept making Scotty panic was that he was supposed to be down there.
He’d been slated to go, but of course yesterday had been the day he’d fallen off a ladder and wrenched his shoulder. Leonard had pulled him off the landing party roster immidiately, Scotty had whined, saying that the ensigns would mess it up somehow-
And Spock-
Scotty should know better than to make teasing requests. Between Vulcanic intensity and human passion, Spock would pull down the stars for someone he loved if only they’d ask. Scotty had jokingly asked his husband to go and supervise, and Spock had placed himself on the roster and now the transporter was broken and he was still down there.
And the transporter glitch wasn’t even serious- just a recalibration. But that was worse in a way, because all Scotty could do was pace the transporter room and check the clock to see how much longer. The medical team was on standby, faces grim, and Spock was blocking the bond and Montgomery Scott was terrified-
The counsel finally beeped, and Scotty jumped into action, locked onto the signals in record time, and got everyone up in one masterful sweep.
Spock was leaning heavily against a panicked ensign, arm broken and eyes heavy as he fought the instincutual healing trance.
All Scotty could do was follow him to medbay. Useless.
***
Spock felt a pinch to his palm instead of a slap to wake him from his trance, and he knew immidiately who was next to him.
Montgomery clearly hadn’t slept, and his hands were shaking from overuse of caffeine. His hair was a mess- likely from running his hands through it, a sign that he needed a hair cut- and his lips were chapped from licking them.
“The next time I whine about not going on a landing party,” Montgomery began, “you have my explicit permission to tell future me to shut his gob.”
“I will do no such thing,” Spock protested, feeling tired and heavy, carefully testing his previously broken arm. “It isn’t your fault the transporter broke-“
“Didn’t break,” Montgomery muttered, “just needed recalibration. Old ass piece of space shite-“
“Adun,” Spock interrupted, shifting his hand in Montgomery’s grip to brush his fingers against his. “All is well.”
Montgomery sagged, letting out a breath he probably didn’t realize he’d been holding. “Yeah,” he pressed a kiss to the back of spock’s hand, giving it a squeeze. “Yeah.”

It was actually Carl who suggested that they start an annual kickball game. They didn't have an annual family reunion of any sort -- they didn't need one when they saw each other literally every week -- but Carl is the one who says they need some sort of annual event.
The second thing he says is “Mickey is banned from playing in the annual kickball game.”
Mickey, with a piece of fried chicken in hand, doesn't complain.
“What the fuck? Why?” Ian asks.
“You've played video games with him, he's insanely competitive!” Carl complained.
“Didn't you literally develop a crush on him after he pissed on second plate at little league?” Lip asked.
“That was a political statement, the other team were a bunch of bitches.” Mickey said.
“I'm not playing if Mickey can't play.” Ian huffed.
“That's also fine, you're like, 10 times more physically fit than all of us, playing sports with you is exhausting.” Debbie said.
“Rude.” Ian grumbled.
“You have to play now, for our marital honor.” Mickey said, still stuffing his face.
“You could at least pretend to be upset that you aren't invited to the family gathering.”
“Oh he's still invited,” Carl grinned, “he gets to be ref.”
The table fell silent, and then, with growing excitement, Liam whispered “We're all gonna die.”
“But it'll be glorious.” Ian said.
~~
The first annual Gallagher kickball game arrives in the heat of June, in a shitty old baseball diamond that they did not spend any money or time to try and book.
“Alright! Points will be awarded based on how the ref and mini ref feel!” Mickey shouted, wearing a pair aviators and a black, sleeveless shirt that said REF in white fabric marker.
“Yeah!” Franny shouted, standing next to him in her matching outfit.
“Did you even bother to Google how to play kickball?” Kevin asked.
“Nope!” Mickey said, then lifted his whistle to his lips and blasted it once. “Play ball!”
The teams were boys versus girls, the refs were biased as fuck -- the boys team got bonus points for hotness (“thanks babe!”) And the girls got bonus points for awesomeness (“mommy loves you franny!”) And both teams got points for unsportsmanlike conduct (“you're supposed to take points away for that, Mickey-” “shut up, Liam, we're winning!”) And Mickey and Franny very happily sat in the shade with their whistles and the babies, shouting random fouls and at one point making Lip go to the “penalty bench” (not a real thing) for being a “fucking nerd” (not a real foul)
In the end, they all laid around the park with lukewarm beers, Franny and Mickey chasing each other with water guns.
Fiona nudged Carl. “This was a good idea.”
Carl grinned at her. “Same time next year?”
“Here here.” The Gallagher siblings said, clinking their bottles together.
In the setting sun, laughter and cheap beer flowed through the air.
It was somehow, perfect.

New fic!!!! Written for the romcom phest, go check out the other works in the collection :3
"Hey."
Ian groaned, eyes closed. He was so, so comfortable. Maybe if he just ignored him...
Why had Ian been so dead set on marrying this bastard again?
"Hey, Ian."
Poke.
Motherfucker.
"Hey. Ian. Red. Firecrotch. Sugartits."
Poke poke poke poke-
"What?" Ian groaned, raising one heavy arm to swat at him. He had been dead asleep when Mickey had shaken him awake.
"C'mon," mickey said, "You have to see this."
Ian sighed, forcing his eyes open. He would've ignored him, really, but Mickey sounded so earnest, and they were three days into their ridiculously long awaited honeymoon to Mexico, so Ian was feeling particularly sappy.
When they'd gotten off parole, finally, three long years after leaving prison, Mickey had been the one to suggest they visit the little village he'd settled in. It was close enough to a big city for mickey to work, back when he lived here, but out of the way enough to hide from the feds and any cartel members that were looking for him. The little old lady who had rented mickey his apartment here was still kicking, by some miracle, and had spent the last three days gleefully whacking Mickey with a shoe every time he was in reach, yelling at him in Spanish.
("She actually really likes him," her son, Luca, who was apparently mickeys singular friend from his time here, had told Ian. "They only ever got along by yelling at eachother, but Mami thinks he's hilarious and was really worried when he disappeared off the face of the earth.")
Still, the last few days had been paradise -- the beach, meeting the members of the community who surprisingly thought mickey was amazing, the food -- and Ian was feeling sappy.
He heaved himself out of bed, sleepily letting Mickey lead him out of the small motel room and down to the beach.
"Okay," mickey whispered, "look up."
Ian did - and his breath caught in his throat.
There were so many stars.
"Were far enough from the city that the light pollution isn't so bad," Mickey explained, "I cried like a baby the first time I saw it."
Yeah, Ian thought he might cry too.
They spread out a blanket and sit there for a long while, just staring. It was gorgeous -- Ian almost thought he could see the milky way.
"It's beautiful," Ian said, "worth getting out of bed for."
"It always is," Mickey said, so tenderly that Ian didn't need to look to know his husband was looking at him, not the sky.
Past is Present -- Part 24
@galladrabbles im back, back again, and here with a chrystaline themed prompt!! Sorta! Im sure This is not what cross intended!!!
~~
Ian lay back on the mattress Mickey had here, staring at the graffiti’d walls and shivering in the cold.
“How often did you sleep here, before?”
Mickey shrugged, snuggling close. “Enough that I punched a few methheads to defend my spot.”
“I hate that your house is so unsafe that you had to stay here, of all fucking places.”
“Ey, don't knock my crystal cave bed.”
Ian looked down at him, and Mickey smirked. “What? Crystal meth is consumed here, Gallagher.”
“That's not funny.”
“You’re not funny, asshole.”
Ian hugs him close, then sighs. “We have to leave eventually, babe.”
Galladrabbles: Homesick
I bet yall thought I was dead huh @galladrabbles

Ian cursed as mickey ran into the main office, hot on his heels. “Mickey-”
“I got a call saying my daughters were in the nurses office?!” Mickey barked.
“Mick!”
“I'll take them home, get them up here, do they need an ambulance, How did their teachers miss that they needed an ambulance!”
“Mickey!” Ian said, tugging his husband away from the secretary, who looked petrified. “The nurse said they were just homesick! They're five!”
“Then we take them home! Who needs kindergarten anyway, I never went to kindergarten!”
Ian chuckled. And Mickey had thought he wouldn't be a good dad.
