There is something very mystical about the Japs. Be it their cars or their electronics, the science and execution behind it just simply marvellous. Unfortunately, their “marketing” isn’t as loud as it should be. . In my view, most of the popular single malts are brewed by the marketing team than the actual brewmasters. Yes, they are great but I feel that they are too hyped. On the other hand, many Japanese whiskeys aren’t popular (at least in India) but the packaging, the aroma and the taste is simply refreshing. Everything seems precise and sophisticated. . Recently, I opened this bottle of Suntory Umeshu. And this is the first time I’m tasting a plum liqueur. . When you uncork the bottle, the beautiful aroma immediately wakes your nostrils. It does smell like the fruit. And when you take a sip, it feels like eating those highly booze infused Christmas plum cake! But it doesn’t taste like some fruit juice either. It feels matured and handpicked. I believe the alcohol content is low and so, I kept drinking. I did try adding some ice but that’s a mistake. I feel that once should enjoy this neat and not spoil the original taste by adding soda, ice, etc.. And no sides too. Keep is pure! . It was not planned but looks like the universe saved this bottle for the last. With no international travel in sight, my quest to experience a different taste or a new brand might take a hit. Or may be not. . If you see this bottle, pick it up. Drink neat. And that’s my Christmas card for you! . #blogsbydilip #allaboutwhisky #whiskyreview #japanesewhisky #yamasaki #suntoryumeshu #blendedwhisky #whiskylover #japanesewhiskey #adultbeverages #cocktailrecipe #christmascakes #plumcake @thewhiskyadvisor @thewhiskypedia @suntorywhisky #suntorywhisky #appreciateagooddrink https://www.instagram.com/p/CROk9z3gpVD/?utm_medium=tumblr
