I loved her amber eyes, but I changed her eye color to blue because she keeps getting mistaken for Isabela🥹 Let's just say that her and her brothers' eyes now take after their dad😅

This doesn't harm the design of her kids' designs btw.

Juanito Madrigal✨🧡

The "Copy Cat". He will have the gift of copying others' gifts temporarily in times of need.

Juanito almost looks like a replica of his papa, but he behaves oppositely to Camilo. He's the little angel. He's a soft little boy, very sweet, very timid and humble, and he's so attached to his mami. He's never mischievous like his dad and his older siblings. That's how he is, even while he is growing up.

Funfact:

His mami calls him gatito sometimes

He's afraid of scissors

He randomly stares at his papa for long periods and loves watching him perform.

He loves copying his brother Carlos' power just to turn himself into a cat. (In the future)

🩵Old vs New💙 Design

🩵I finally got to draw the old beloved design🥹

🩵I made a lot of changes with Alora Luna's design. I simplified her to make her characteristics a bit more realistic. The old design kind of focused more into aesthetics and she was just overall confusing cause there's too many things going on with her from her clothes, traits, skills, and even with her backstory. I love the new design better because it's more focused on the narrative and I did my best to make her a bit more realistic. I'll make a post of her new official design soon (I already made the drawing but it needed some tweaks).

💙 Basically her new description is that she's intelligent, meticulous, and very perceptive or observant. She's big on academics but she secretly has a passion for creative writing. Her dad owns a restaurant in the city (the year is 1950s), where she gladly helps him along with her 3 brothers.

💙✨Her new design is flexible. She can both be a part of the Encanto universe, but she can also stand on her own with her own story.✨

💙 The changes on her appearance by the way is that I pushed the contrast between her and Camilo.

Yet even without Camilo, she can still stand on her own cause I loved her new design the way it is and it's staying that way. The wardrobe will maybe have a few variations.

Sorry I've been gone for quite some time. I got extremely busy with my personal life and all ever since I moved away for college🥹✨ Thank you for those who continued to support me despite my absence🥰Maybe one day I can try to make up for it.

Kinda late, but HAPPY NEW YEAR🎉🎊🪅🥂🥳

I had no idea what to draw🥹I even have a few WIP drawings before this that I never got to finish🥲 I was also so upset that I wasn't able to get the foreshortening right in this piece🤣 Oh well😌... I'll take note of that and practice more.😚

🐦2023 has been the most intense roller coaster ride of problems and emotions I have had so far. It both made me flash back to all of my past traumas (which are confidential) and made me feel more pressured about my future than I'd ever been. I was a wreck. But it was also the year I had a lot of realizations. Maybe it was a year for growth... For 2024, I won't make any promises to myself or anyone; I'll just keep on figuring things out and experimenting.

I forgot to mention that Alora's birthday is on a new year🥹 (In her new design by the way, she's a year younger than Camilo and Mirabel, so Alora is 14. While Rafael is 1 year older (he's 16).

Context: Imelda died right after she pushed out her last triplet. Though Manuel and the kids couldn't really see Imelda's spirit, she's always there guarding them.

Your loved ones are like the stars. You may not always see them but they're always there.🙏🕯️🌟✨

This was supposed to be like a 5 second animation, but the illustration took me a while to finish that I ran out of time to animate it🥲

🐦To answer your question, YES the triplets do sleep stacked together like that since they were babies up until 10 years old when Alora was given her own bedroom.

Funfact about familia Luna that I never mentioned but you may have picked up: -Imelda is from Mexico -Manuel is from Spain -The triplets were raised in Colombia, yet they travel a lot from time to time before Manuel focused on his restaurant.

I haven't posted here on Tumblr, Twitter, and Deviantart lately. I'll post some of my commissioned works, and a few sketches too. I've been busy throughout this whole year lately ever since we got into face-to-face classes. I moved to a big city in our country alone, got 2 jobs, college, got into a 2d animation org in our school, and then there's my mental health TvT Thank you so so much to those who continued to support me!!!

Alora Luna

Character Concept Art for her Redesign

Alora is a quiet and perceptive person. She is often seen as poised with minimal expression, yet she is sincere and has a rather expressive side that she only shows to those she’s most comfortable with. She sees what others overlook, yet she feels like she’s only seen when needed. She may be patient, but she could be fierce. 

She grew up following her father’s footsteps in academics, music, and culinary arts. She intends to keep making him proud. She basically learned a lot just from following him around. Yet she still has her own interests such as literature (writing plays, songs, stories, and other works of fiction, including non-fiction) and photography.

I made this drawing a couple of months ago, but I never posted it. I was going to post it after that design comparison post I made, but I got preoccupied with other stuff (as usual these days). I already explained my design choices in that comparison post. It would be fun to finally have a post of her brothers' and father's designs, but I think I'll be posting Christmas-themed content after this for now.

👑Papa's little princess👑🧡💛✨Camilo and Paulina✨💛🧡

Close-Ups

Camilo is very close with his daughter Paulina. When she was a baby, he used to turn into her a lot and play with her. So much so, that some people actually thought Paulina had a twin sister. Their bondings included styling each other's hairs, performing/acting, hoarding food, and pulling a few pranks here and there.

However in terms of seeking good advice (very emotional moments) and help with homeworks, Paulina always turns to her mom.

Camilo is terrified of what Paulina's "rebellious phase" would be like.

Though it appears that her personality is a carbon copy of her father, that's not entirely the case. Alora/Luna also had a mischievous side, especially as a kid. Which is picking locks, escaping, hiding "disappearing", and tracking people down.

AND THEY KEPT THINKING ABOUT HOW THEY'RE SPAWNING GREMLINS🤣
