What if Spencer didn't find Grace as an orphan but orphaned her by himself? Like, kidnapped her whole family, unalived her parents/ turned them into his subjects and just let baby Grace intact? This case was already there since game one with Lisa Trevor and her parents. And the Oswell was personally involved. What if the case was similar, what if one or both of Grace's parents made something for Spencer (like building facility with labyrinths and labs, producing some new viruses etc.) and he killed them, made sure that the activities won't be relieved or it would be hard to defeat/solve it without key person(s). I don't know if Spencer is trustworthy enough, in the end, he spent his whole life by terrorizing people and animals at a global level. However, if his intentions were pure and he wanted to give an orphaned baby new home, there is no sure where and how he got her. Also, first feeling I had during the revealing Grace's past of RE9 and how Alyssa became her adoptive mother, was.... I don't trust him. It seems to me, that making Alyssa the legal guardian of Grace was some sort of "mouth shutting". Like Alyssa was fearless journalist who was digging in biohazard busssiness since the early 90s, years before the slaughtering of S.T.A.R.S. in RE1. Also, Alyssa was RC survivor, there was nothing what held her back- until the moment, she became Grace' legal guardian. I think that Spencer (or anyone else from Umbr., in the end it doesn't matter) tried to stop her or at least slowed her, because Alyssa was really determined journalist. Because constant fighting against bioweapon syndicates with or without child to protect is really different fight. I believe that Alyssa was ready in no time sacrificed her life for revealing the truth, but put in danger a child? Her child? And, it seems that Grace wasn't for Spencer a person, but tool of some sort of his atonement. He could simply showed his regret differently. Like, for example some sort of compensation for survivors of his projects. Turning himself in to the authorities. Yeah, there is the thing with elpis, but it was a bare minimum I guess. Hiding and no contact with the world and taking (maybe kidnapping) the orphaned child looses meaning of any atonement.
I have uploaded text dialogue and voiced lines of all playable characters in Resident Evil: Outbreak file #2, along with cutscenes from the game. Some audio is detached from the video in cutscenes, as it is how these files were packaged inside the game, but I have included the missing audio with the video files. Everything should be marked properly.
Download them from my Outbreak file # 2 folder at google drive.

A fanfiction of medieval Alyssa and Grace Ashcroft (journalist and an analyst, hiding), working together with Ark Thompson (RE: Survivor) as a Sherlock-like dressed detective?
Dang I am on it!
