Bronze statuette with precious-metal inlay of the 26th Dynasty pharaoh Amasis II (r. 570-526 BCE), shown kneeling. Now in the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
In the temple of Ain el-Muftella, Pharaoh Amasis II makes offerings to a parade of gods, starting with the lion-headed god Maahes, then lioness-headed Bastet, and (just visible) Amun. (PM VII p 308)
