Story Time!

So I’m visiting my dad and stepmom before they move and went down into their basement to work in packing some of my stuff they have had in storage. As I descended the stairs, I notice a black circular object in the middle of the floor. I stop on the stairs, and stare at the dark object as opposed to being an intelligent human and turning on the light.

“Alexa?” I think out loud. The room is suddenly illuminated in a threatening red ring of light from the object as a voice echoes through the nearly empty basement.

“I’m sorry. I am having trouble connecting to the internet.”

That’s nice Alexa but why the fuck are you alone in the basement!?
