Today’s random wetlands encounter was finding this American coot couple and common gallinule couple that were hanging out together for hours despite constantly snipping at each other and starting shit. Feels like I stumbled upon a weirdly toxic double date.
2025 year in review - my favorite photos captured this year. I really had such a fantastic summer with the wood ducklings. I couldn't narrow it down to fewer duckling photos.

Went birding today to soak up the basically tropical 40 degree weather (no winter hat needed! One layer of socks!) No lifers today but I don’t careeee. Loved the coot sitting on the ice showing off his big steppers
