‘If he does anything funny we’ll just turn his head inside out and blame someone else,’ Esme assured her sisters. ‘This school’s proper crazy so there’s any number of candidates for it.’
‘You will not,’ Sophie insisted.
“I’m sure he doesn’t want trouble over a simple injury. There’s no point leaving it to potentially get infected so we can all make a scene,” Irma said out loud, trying to help Sophie derail all of that. They knew that Josh Foley didn’t really like them, he had been broadcasting that quite clearly up to now. But she didn’t want to start a fight.
“I - oh, very well,” Celeste sighed, holding out her arm to him.
Josh waited while the girls ‘debated’ in their freaky way. Frankly so long as they stayed out of his head he could cope with the weird ‘five girls one mind’ thing or whatever it was. He just didn’t wanna fight or get hurt.
“And on that one you’d be damn right.” he deadpanned, “And a wound like this is likely to fester, especially given the amount of contact you’ll have with other people in dormitories.” he added. Besides, for his many many faults, and he was sure the whole damn campus would be happy to make a list, he didn’t like seeing people hurt. “Alright then.”
He reached his hands out, gently cradling the injured appendage before asking quietly, “Which one are you?” his voice gentler for a change.
