FIGURED OUT MY LOGO! Well, I guess my wordmark! I kept the type, but I had some hard thinking about how can I state who I am with all my designs. But I first had to figure out how could I show that. I am someone who strives to make the dull exciting and I want to create an experience with everything I touch. At first, I was thinking of doing something creative. Start with boring old text and then have it change in a really cool font with lovely colors and patterns. But that is just not me (nor could I even do that technically or sketch-wise.) Then I started with my own handwriting. I tried many versions of my whole name, initials, and weird words I liked. I messed around with arranging my letters and creating letters and symbols that I couldn’t recognize.
This didn’t work. As you can see. But my middle name means a great deal to who I am and how I grew up. It’s defined who I was and am today. And then I created the ‘J’ in my logo and it kinda hit me like a train. ‘That’s who I am. That’s me. I am a designer, just a simple and subtle designer that can create a personal and unique experience. I am Amy J Markowski.’ Well, I guess now I have to start redoing everything else. But at least I’m on my path. The right path.
