I may not be on Void anymore, but I’ve been seeing a lot of ‘love children’ around here and I couldn’t help but draw one. This is Jay, he’s the fusion/love child(?) of Andy Heller and @video320‘s Jules Saphir. Jay has the ability to control fabric and uses it as a magician. Rather than fear crowds and people like Andy, Jay feeds off of his viewers’ fears to enhance his powers. It also makes for a more exciting show. He’s a bit of a germaphobe, so he always wears gloves.

I thought it appropriate to name him after Screamin’ Jay Hawkins

Got it stuck in my mind to make deeply symbolic craft-based vignettes of one of the perfectly mundane but extraordinarily relatable character. 

Scissors cut thread. Often times we do this subtly or not so subtly. Sometimes people are too much or we feel we’re not enough and we quietly cut ties either with a quick motion or a slow squeeze. But in the end we do and we are left with the frayed edges left bare with nothing to hold them tight.

The Comic...

Has been uploaded and all I have to do is go to work until 5 AM come home, sleep, and read it when I wake up.

Feels pretty good finally getting one done and not feel ashamed about it. :)

I’ll get the post ready when it comes around so no worries.
