Recently I was lamenting that I started so many paintings last year which I never finished. I wanted to make a real effort to finish and post more work this year, and then....my hard drive failed 🙃🙃🙃
It had 20+ years of art and documents and photos (including all my art WIPs and references), and while I'm hoping I can get the data recovered, it also hosted my pirated copy of Photoshop CS6 from 2012 and the single custom brush I do 99% of my painting with.
The point of all this is when I got the urge to paint this weekend I decided to try out this Clip Studio Paint thing I'd heard so much about and holy shit!!
I knocked this sketch out in like 3 lazy hours?? The custom brushes!! The paint styles!! The blending tool!! I can't believe how much easier to use it is!! I've basically had the same workflow, same brush, same everything for over a decade and all it took was a dead hard drive to break me out of it 😭😭
I'm still learning obviously and it'll take me a while to get the brushes how I like them but holy shit I'm a convert!!
