I sorta agree with jikook tag anon. I remember the jikook tag being like my safe place, now it's just a hub of discourse about taekook or insecure jikookers. I'm not telling anyone what to do or tag but it's just sad that it doesn't feel like a comfortable or fun space anymore. It just feels like more doomscrolling on top of all the negative news. I really don't get what jikook blogs get from answering to trolls and posting it in the tag. :( There's some good discourse too, but it gets lost in all the troll sh*t.

Hi Nonie. I really do understand and sympathize with folks who would like the jikook tag to be a happy, positive place where there's no trolls or debates. I've only been around a few weeks and I can already sense that burnout in this fandom is real!

I guess I'm a bit confused as to why, with the courage of this conviction, folks don't come off anon, post in the jikook tag a polite request to return the tag to that sort of culture, and turn off anon messaging so they aren't roasted for it. But I'll do it. I'll post this here in the jikook tag so folks who were using it to discuss doubts or gray areas or theories can decide for themselves if they want to keep using the tag.

From now on, I'll try using something else like "ship_discourse" or "anon_asks" or something. I didn't even realize if I use words like BTS or Jikook in a different tag, it can still show up in the timeline, so I'm grateful to the anon who taught me that.

As for what blogs get answering the trolls... I mean, when you mentioned the feeling of "doom scrolling" I instantly knew what you meant. Just really made the point for me. But the other side of this coin is that leaving haters unchecked is a bit of a cop out. I feel like we do have some responsibility to correct misinformation or combat hate speech, to represent BTS well by being polite and rational and supportive of them. But also to your point, probably most of these asks are not asked in good faith and are just trolling, and if you feed a troll with attention, it keeps coming back. So it makes good sense to just ignore them. I thank you for that wisdom; I needed the reminder.
