Did you know that the Varied Carpet Beetle (Anthrenus Verbasci) is a common pest, both in homes and museums?
The larvae like to hide in the dark (same) and feast away at all sorts of organic materials, be it wood, cloth, carpets, or dead insects. The adults eventually emerge, with their recognizable yellow, black, and white spotted scales covering its body.
Even though they are considered a pest, the worst thing they can do to you is chew a couple holes in your clothes. They can't hurt you at all.
