                it’s   not   often   he   ever   risks   outing   himself   like   this   to   anyone .     sure  ,       he’ll   go   day   by   day   MASKLESS  ,       since   nobody   would   ever   know   that   he   wears   one  ,      but   having   already   traded   a   few   secrets   he   thinks   one   more   won’t   matter   much .              NOT   THAT   HE   COMPLETELY   TRUSTS   HER .     knife   is   still   strapped   to   his   hip  ,      just   in   case  ,       he’s   prepared   to   act   quick   and   to   act   fast .

body  leans  backwards  ,  palms  pressed  against  the  warm  cement  of  the  step  as  he  avoids  going  home  right  away  .  once  again  ,  he’d  woken  up  to  another  note  on  the  whiteboard  ,  his  parents  announcing  that  they’d  be  gone  for  the  long  weekend  .  not  like  they  could  tell  him  in  person  ------  no  ,  that  would  be  too  easy  .  but  he  plays  it  off  ,  just  like  he  always  does  .  though  that  doesn’t  help  him  now  ,  with  randy  working  a  double  shift  at  the  video  store  ,  tatum  at  practice  ,  and  billy  choosing  his  girlfriend  over  his  best  friend  .  .  .  again  . then  again  ,  he  tells  himself  ,  it’s  all  for  good  reason  :  the  plan  .  but  boredom  is  soon  interrupted  as  gaze  follows  fiery  red  hair  as  it  descends  the  stairs  next  to  him  ,  and  he  can’t  help  the  way  eyes  follow  her  ,  nor  the  way  he  pushes  up  from  the  stairs  to  catch  up  to  her  .  this  is  just  what  he  needed  .     ‘  hey  .   ’     the  word  comes  out  quicker  than  he  would  have  liked  .     ‘  new  girl  ------  it’s  cheryl  ,  right  ?   ’

She had a way with words -- he wouldn’t have admitted it aloud, but he could acknowledge it to himself. Just like her brother and the way he’d won over Ms. Grundy with a few slick lines, Cheryl was trying oh so hard to apply those same tactics to him. Unfortunately for her -- of all the boys in school, the dark haired boy donned Cheryl-proof armour and wasn’t likely to fall for her charms or get tongue tied like most of her prey. “You and your wonder twin over there are my problem,” he said flatly, but there was a keen edge of bitterness clinging to his teeth. Green eyes flashed away from her. “I’m not in the business of owing favours, Cheryl.”

i’m kinda bummed i couldn’t find a picture with both of our muses on but ...    i also don’t think it’s that important because i think this one ,   two statues clinging onto each other for dear life ,   is a pretty well representation of just how important you are to me .   you are the literal definition of a life saver ,   of a friend who got your back when your whole world turns on you .   and that’s what it felt like for me last summer .   you know our story so there’s no reason to retell it here ,   but i cannot state enough just how much your act of kindness and the fact alone that you reached out to me  — even after how horrible i treated you —  means to me .

you picked me up when literally a whole fandom turned their pack on me and left me in the gutter .   you helped me put the pieces back together and re-find my love for writing and rp’ing here on tumblr .   i was a literal mess ,   disassociating a lot when my focus was needed in real life  ( and even my co-workers could feel that ) ,   but because of you i got back up on my feet and i moved on .   i have grown and i have learned so much because you were there for me through all of it .   not only did everything change for me for the better online ,   but also in real life ,   and everyone around me who worked with me last summer can testify to that .

you continue to inspire me with your being and with everything you do .   there is no denying that i owe you everything and that i would not be here had it not been for you .   life might suck sometimes ,   but i know now i can make it through everything because i have you ,   not only as an inspiring person in my life ,   but also because i can call you my friend .
