I still haven't decided if I'm posting the whump, so you get some random anxceit headcanons instead.

Virgil is not big on pet names. He calls Janus by his name or 'Jan' or a host of snarky nicknames 90% of the time, but uses 'Dee' when he's feeling particularly soft or affectionate or during serious talk time. The pet names only come out when Janus is upset, and those are 'babe/baby' or 'sweetheart'

By contrast Janus mostly uses every pet name under the sun, including some truly saccharine ones like 'beloved', 'pumpkin', or 'baby-cakes'. The more a pet name makes Virgil cringe the better he likes it. But 'darling' is his favorite. When Virgil is upset, or it's serious talk time, that's when he switches to the full name, or more rarely 'Virge' or 'Vee'.

Ok so like, I have an idea that's begging to escape my brain, but I'm too exhausted to write anything coherent, so hear me out.

Virgil just being really possessive and having a marking kink, so he spends *hours* tying Janus up with silky soft purple rope. He strokes and pets every inch of skin or scales as he goes. Like a light full body massage. And uses pretty, complicated, web like patterns. The whole time he's feeding Janus's praise kink, telling him how well he's doing and how gorgeous he looks all wrapped up in Virgil's color. He digs his thumbs into any tense muscles, and takes breaks to hand feed Janus tea and chocolates. By the end of it, Janus is relaxed and pliant, fully in subspace.

And then Virgil gets his mouth on him, and he's very much alert again. Virgil sucks marks everywhere he can reach, with a hint of teeth, just enjoying the way Janus squirms and whines and pretends not to beg. He works him to a frenzy before he finally fucks him to orgasm.

Then there's very soft aftercare, with a hot bath, and bruise cream and more hand fed chocolate. By the time they're done, Janus is practically boneless, and demands cuddles til he falls asleep. So Virgil holds him as they drift off, feeling very satisfied because even though the ropes have come off, Janus is *still* covered in purple.
