7 Daze of Pink
I love producing music. Today, I was talking to a professional sound man about his favorite types of music because I was curious to see what he valued sonically. He basically said he liked all types of music, but mainly music where the person knew what they were doing and was able to translate that into a feeling through their music. He mentioned that all that “computation stuff” doesn’t move him.
Even though I do know how to play multiple instruments, I love the “computation stuff.” That is where I live, love and die. Computation = compositions and I really feel like I love producing in Logic and other DAWS extensively because you can use the one instrument, drum pad, or program to play multiple instruments and synths. Things you’d probably never be able to tinker with or master in a short period of time when you’re just starting out producing. Plus I think my band nerd background really helps me keep these raw electronic sounds I love very melodic.
This is all a lead up to an announcement. I produced a 7 track EP called 7 Days exclusively at Apple Stores around NYC (mainly the Soho store). It is the stuff of my electronic dreams and I hope to release a lot more of the music that I’ve produced following this one!
These photos are part of the promotional shoot for the album, and I’ll have album specific artwork coming soon as well. I’m really excited about this EP, which I originally thought would be mostly rap, but turned out to really be more of an moody beat tape. I really feel that it captures the feelings we feel going throughout each day of the week. Anyway, enjoy.
