good morning! the snow is melting, the birds are singing, and the sun is out, so it already feels weirdly like late march. this afternoon I’ve got five hours of Zoom meetings so I’m hoping to enjoy some time away from the screen beforehand.
these days I’m doing digital reading notes, which feels like such a departure from my usual practice! I just can’t justify buying new notebooks this semester, since I don’t know where I’ll be in the next year and I’ll probably have to scan or move my notes anyway. as long as I’m taking them at all, it feels worthwhile. if you have any suggestions for how to make digital notes ✨aesthetic✨ I’d love to hear them!
march 12 2021 // day 65 of 100 days of productivity
tasks on tap today:
polish draft of gov paper
submit paper
complete training modules
spend one pomodoro on thesis intro
it's been a stressful week! between my interview last night (pray for me oof) and the gov paper due today, I've been pretty distracted from waiting for application decisions. working with syntax trees will also do that to a girl 😅
zoomester studyblr challenge, days 9-12
Day 9 - Write something that you’d like to tell yourself.
to the me a year ago, who would be grappling with her study abroad program being canceled and having three days to return to the US: you will make it through. don't expect to catch that train, though. get a hotel for the night you fly in; you'll need it. and spend these last few days seeing the sights, visiting your favorite cafes, going to all the public spaces you love, because you won't be able to for a long, long time
Day 10 - Tag someone whose aesthetic you love seeing on your feed.
ohhh there are so many on point aesthetics on my feed but I really enjoy seeing @stuhde's posts! it seems like we have the same taste for interior design hehe
Day 11 - What’s something that you’ve always wanted to do but haven’t got the chance to do so?
see the northern lights! I used to live somewhere far enough north that theoretically were visible some winter nights but I never saw them :') so one day I'll take a winter trip to a place further north than northern new england
Day 12 - Are you more into plant or flowers? What’s your fave type?
ugh I love both too much to choose!! my former roommate has almost all of my plants ("yeah I'll pick them up next fall when I'm back from studying abroad 🤡") but I love plants with big beautiful leaves like prayer plants and I really want a rubber tree when I get my own place. for flowers, dahlias completely take my breath away every year 💕
it's only the third week of the semester and I'm already struggling to slam the brakes! somehow I got it into my head that I'm behind on my thesis, which is completely insane because it's not due till the end of April and that's more than enough time. and there's no way I can keep up this frantic pace through May, blowing through readings and fidgeting with R, so I need to listen to my body and rest my eyes as often as I can.
