"...thank you." he watches as she takes over, her steady hands so similar to the ones he watched grow up for...not nearly long enough. a small smile creeps across his face, bittersweet in ways only a parent can understand. "physical medicine was, ah...never my strong suit," he explains, somewhat vaguely sheepish. "you're much better than i could ever hope to be."

teor's voice shakes him out of his stupor; a small sniff accompanying a few fast-paced blinks. "hm?" as the words finally sink in, kattigan lets out a slight chuckle, doing a delayed double-take. "struggle? that's a strong word, man." one shoulder shrugs. "i'm doing fine, thank you very much." he stretches his arm over his head, as if he can shake off the aura of melancholy that has surrounded him since tyranny's questioning. "give me a day or two 'n i'll be back to normal in no time." flashing a small grin, "it's fine," though if it reached his eyes it would be more believable.

he clenches his teeth, turning the stifled grunt into a forced exhale. teor's paws are big, and he never been so grateful for the nama's strength – even if it darkens the edges of his vision. "yeah," he grits out, "that's good, yep." kattigan's head falls back against the dirt, doing his best to stay lucid. eyes open. don't go now. it was his own fault; thinking the other was on his flank, taking a risky move. it had worked, mind you – his opponent lay dead on the battlefield a couple hundred feet away – but it had left his side wildly open, and the bastard had managed a last desperate stab. teor had clapped him on the back afterwards, chuckling in admiration, only to stop when kat grunted in pain. past that, well...things were starting to get blurry. "think...think it might need more than this, mate."
