Trick or treat : o?? 🎃

Hiyaaa @arachnaloved, where I am, it is already the 1st of November, so I apologise for the late response. Eitherwayy, I will still participate in 'Trick or Treat' and I have decided to go for TREAT !

For you, I have Araneus marmoreus, which is more commonly known as the marbled orbweaver, but might also be called the pumpkin or halloween spider. The spider thanks its association with pumpkins and halloween to the appearence of the female's inflated abdomen which ressembles an orange pumpkin.

My lil marbled orbweaver friend is active tonight. 💛

I love getting to see them make more webs or wrap up their meals. They caught a stink bug the other day!

What should I name them?

They’ve been here for a few weeks now, I’m loving getting to see them every time I leave the house~

Chonky marbled orb weaver held by my friend for a close-up.  It took anxious effort getting this showy spider on the leaf without_touching_it. 

Also known as pumpkin spiders, orb weavers eat the dewy strands of their web each morning recycling nutrients. NIFTY!

Here she is! An absolutely darling Marbled Orb Weaver spider (Araneus marmoreus)! Also known as the pumpkin spider 🎃

This little friend almost met her end while inside a debris pile we were hauling away, but luckily I spotted her before she found herself crushed or blown off on the road.

Hope she enjoys her relocated home on my porch! (On the opposite side from Pumpkin, my resident male orb weaver friend who lives there too :)
