Scenic View of the Pennybacker Bridge
The striking, red-arched Pennybacker Bridge spans over the Colorado River, with lush greenery and a golf course in the background. Vehicles traveling across the bridge showcase its functionality and scenic location.
The Percy V. Pennybacker Jr. Bridge, also known as the Austin 360 Bridge, was dedicated officially in November of 1982, and spans the Colorado River/Lake Austin, as part of the Loop 360 "Capital of Texas Highway". It makes for a scenic route around the western part of Austin, and many people visit the overlook for a hike of the West Lookout Trail and a view of this part of the city.
Among the views from the overlook are parts of suburban west Austin and the Austin Country Club, some of which can be seen through the bridge structure in this image.
