I’m from Galicia (North West Spain), and there has been more than 80 fires last month due to a few stupid laws that allows to build on burned terrain. Today a hurricane will pass near Galicia and with the wind the fire will spread even more.

I live 150 km away from Vigo (the city most affected by fire), and I can smell the smoke and see ash falling. We had 30ºC in October. There are a lot of people risking their lives because the government says that we have to wait for rain, we don’t have enough firefighters (two weeks ago they fired more than 400).

Animals dying, forests disappearing, all for the benefit of a few.

This is sad, and shameful.

Que esté ardiendo Galicia y este gobierno este (mal)gestionando cualquier otra cosa. Estamos quemando bosque para jugar con recalificaciones e inversiones inmobiliarias... un rastro que debería ser muy fácil de seguir y castigar. No se cuántos planetas creemos que nos quedan después de este... Ya nos estamos ahogando en las ciudades y nos cargamos estos pulmones para forrarnos más. Las dice de la noche, a 25 grados y con rachas de viento que acojonan. Pero eso no es lo peor, lo que de verdad asusta es el olor a humo, la pesadez del aire y el pensar lo que el viento puede transportar... #galiciaarde y con ella arde nuestra identidad, miles de árboles con historia que hacían de nuestra comunidad un manto verde son ahora negros y ceniza los rodea.
