Peasant hovels in Arianburh.

Piggott (our pig farmers) on its own next to the fields of Thorne (the squire). The stream runs behind here.

Haywood hovel on the left, our woodcutters! They also get a special wood lot behind their house where they can camp out.

And the Borrow cottage, who are foragers mainly, with a shop at home. They also keep a few chickens. This household is another interesting one! I rolled two elder ladies, three teenage boys and more children and toddlers to fill out the eight :) Let's see what items they can find in the forest with mysterious powers....

The fields in the centre of the hamlet are shared. On the bottom right, you can see a farm field owned by the manor lord (they are in the stone house with the two wings). It's tilled by the teenage boys of the peasantry. Which, they mind less because the manor lord household consists for a large part of pretty teenage girls...

(Yes, when I rolled for the families, for the gentry I ended up with 3 teen girls and a few children and toddlers!)

Also also, I built a chapel.

I think medieval chapels are some of the prettiest things that a landscape can have, so of course I always have to make one. I'm not religious, but the architecture and history interests me.

The Cookes had a fire in their bakery which threatened to burn down the building and take half the family with it, but miraculously everyone survived.

(They really were tough-- I didn't help them, because I am still setting up the families. In fact, some of the founding members were only there to create the toddlers that I random-rolled ages ago.... So in order to be truthful to the random roll, I should actually make them disappear...)

I finished my first medieval Sims video! It’s a broad overview of my MCC settlement Arianburh, and a few main factors I always consider when creating a landscape for a town. Hope you enjoy watching!

I hope you’re all well, Simming friends. I know I often disappear, but this game still has my heart after so many years. Now..... who among you remembers the good old Livejournal days? Just today I got an e-mail from them that it’s been 13 years since I created my account with them. As it happens, I had just been re-reading many of my posts there (2008-2011 were the heydays, really, what?! where does time go?) and realised how much I loved just writing and talking to all of you. I hope to be able to do that more often again in the future, because I miss it.

As for video creation, I’m still learning the ropes, so bear with me :) However I really enjoy sharing my towns in video format! Please let me know what you think, I value your opinion.

Eeeeeee I finally allowed myself some free time so I moved all my back-ups onto my fresh TS2 installation on my shiny new Laptop and look! Everything seems to work!

I played Don Lothario and the Goths in the vanilla install, which was fun. (Don woohooed with Nina and Dina, got rejected by Kaylynn, married Cassandra, and then I heard some chimes....) 

I’ve never really played the premades after I first got the game and didn’t know what I was doing. I remember the first time I got Don into a big big drama! I also had Johnny and Ophelia live in a gigantic mansion and have a daughter. Of course now through all the stories of the well-known Simmers I know the characters well and it feels extra special and nostalgic to play them. I’m rather tempted to start up an Uberhood! But first, I want to play through all the scripted events..... :)

The photos are from my medieval town Arianburh at the top and my legacy family the Fairfoots/Fairfeet and their house at the bottom. I’m just really happy to see them all again. :) At the moment I’m feeling the modern vibe more, so when I get around to actual playing I think that’s where I’ll be jumping in. However -- I saw there’s SHEEP now!! And smithing and candlemaking and all sorts of magical things by Sun&Moon! So I am also really looking forward to trying all of that out!
