Colored pencil drawing of a fish
when you’re infantilized as a child, whether due to a narcissistic guardian or mental illness, the pain still carries on into your adult years.
bouts of self doubt and anger. desperately trying to do everything you can to be a responsible adult. so you won’t get called “mentally a child ever” again.
but you know deep down you can’t be on top of everything and it just makes the helplessness worse.
Mermaid Pride!
Hey! So I made a book out of my mermaid pride illustrations!
It is a brief educational illustrated softcover book with 48 colored pages, 15 big illustrations and a few small ones. I wrote all the texts, did the layout and created the graphics (flags, a font, the gender symbols), I made a german and an english version and I will be printing them soon hopefully.
Here is a picture of the cover and the content section:
I am thinking about pricing it at about 8€ to 10€ , but you have to consider shipping as I am in Germany and shipping to the US will be expensive. If you want a nice, pretty book about diffrent queer/LGBT+ identities with mermaid illustrations, please consider reblogging this and tagging it with the language you want it in! (English and german really are the only options right now) Payments will be made over paypal.
Also it comes with a sticker of the rainbow mermaid pictured above! If you want to only buy a sticker that will be circa 2€ depending on how many people are interested (please tag as sticker if that’s the case).
Boosts are very much appreshiated, but please do not tag as english/german if you don’t actually want to buy this, or are unsure, as I need to oder them accordingly and plainly, I can’t afford to make too many books.
Please help out a young queer neurodivergent artist who poured their soul into this and needs to move out!
It’s almost the end of Nornvember and I haven’t shown Bail off yet!!!! In public RP he’s a leader of a guild dedicated to helping the people of Tyria deal with the aftermath of the dragons and current events in any way they can. It’s mostly just made up of my own characters lol. In a private RP with a friend he’s the “canon commander” (though, we’re giving bits and pieces of the story to other characters too!!!). He’s blind, and uses a combination of magic and two dragons he tamed to get around. The dragons are named Titan and Attor. He loves them like they’re his own children. Bail uses he/him pronouns only!
[Sorry this is long, I cannot add a Keep Reading line on my phone] [PLEASE DONT REMOVE CAPTION] (it's important to me) An anon asked me to show my art some time ago, so here is my favourite piece. It's an installation with a broad topic of Emotion, but it explores my emotions and how I let society see my emotions, versus how my emotions are beyond the "mask". For context, I struggle to understand my emotions, and a particular poem called OCD by Neil Hilborn helped me express some of these. It provokes emotions I don't feel from other poems because I don't relate to them. This entire unit in college was therapeutic in many ways; it helped me understand my feelings, visualise my emotions, express my feelings to others, and because art is my special interest the whole process was a big stimmy mess. I loved every second, even though it was heart wrenching to realise that I'm not the happiest cherub in the classroom. I had many people help write on my board, it shows handwritten feelings that people may not be comfortable sharing verbally, and would perhaps journal. It shows type from the media that cuts into our brains and influences our thoughts, and the colourful explosion shows how I'm constantly overloaded with thoughts and emotions. From the front, you see my face. Projected onto muslin cloth, you can see the colour peeping through, and a few words may be seen. But that's it. As you interact with the piece and walk through or move the curtain, you see my real feelings. Feelings I don't tell many people. Feelings I may put on social media, influenced by media, but I will never say these verbally. I can't. In the background you would hear Neil Hilborn, preaching about his OCD, putting his words in mine and now yours. I listened to this poem as I painted the silhouette, which is why it's so messy. I was visualising my feelings on the go and it was emotionally painful but so, so interesting to finally see after years of not understanding myself. This is where my assignment ended, but if I had time, I would develop my ideas further onto the back of the board. Where did those thoughts originate?
Gift for Callie, my good system buddy, I’m love them.
I'm trying to raise some money before I leave the country, so I'm taking commissions for paintings like this! I'm asking £20GBP ($26USD) for busts and £40 ($53USD) for fullbodies. Let me know if you're interested! <3
