here’s my journey of the leg warmers I’ve made over the time. :) the pictures are in chronological order! Top knitted leg warmers were first, then the colourful one which I never finished, and then these sober brown ones that fit the job and don’t leave all kinds of .. you know, those little things behind. Pilling it is? I chose the first leg warmers on the colours of the yarn, not on the characteristics… I also finished them up in a very ugly way; I didn’t mind at the time, they were functional, but now I do care.
The second one is more thought in it; I wanted some leg warmers for home, and started, then never finished them because they were too colourful for my taste even though they look great :) They have the right yarn too, considering it doesn’t pill.
The third one is the final one I have right now. I crocheted them instead, because I love crocheting and knitting, well, just isn’t for me. They’re smaller than the other ones because I realised I didn’t need such big ones, and because they’re smaller I can put them on when I wear my boots too. I first made a square alternating half double crochet and single crochet rows. Then I crocheted them together, still using the same string. At the bottom I crocheted a few more rows, but skipping a few ‘stitches’ so it grows tighter and stays against my leg.
they’re made in my favourite color and it’s just love, really. :) in the top picture they don’t look like they’re the same size, but I just laid them out wrong.. they are (I didn’t check, though; I just crocheted, not like anyone is going to check an extra row or two. :)
From this project I also learned that I like fine crochet more; thick, thunky crochet is not my thing and I won’t be doing that anymore. :) As for knitting, I don’t know; I love the look of knitting, but knitting itself is just a hassle compared to crochet, really..
