SO! Obviously not only is it an interesting concept in general- the experiences of a figure so many know and love as a ‘flamboyant’ content creator but as a regular person with a regular persons job whose life just falls apart one day. I personally think about it so often because I just really really love all of Dan’s scripted videos. His way of storytelling and writing is something *actually* unique and long format, scripted, professionally produced content is something I would have fallen in love with immediately; especially under such an interesting premise. I also think the exploration of real people issues with things such as mental health and sexuality in a comedic but, as it seems, equally meaningful setting would not only have been appealing but also helpful for people to recognise their own issues.

Furthermore, it would show, just as he spoke about in “Why I quit Youtube”, that online content platforms do house actual talent. Open the idea to people that sites online, not even just Youtube, but things such blogs or fanwork creation can be revolutionary in the same way as big or physical media.

Overall, I lose sleep because it could have been something actually, properly, staggering but alas it crumbled on account of a mega corporation with too much money and their dicks in their hands. Everything was placed brick by brick to be perfect, yet corporation greed and unprofessionalism caused it to tumble.

It's is so fun that you ask this because @noodles-and-tea (I hope they don't mind if I tag them) has recently done a few super cute drawings of merlin + arthur in the modern day, where arthur is all confused about modern day technology. I look forward to them every time they come up on my dash!

ANYWAYS that didn't answer your question(s). I'm actually kind of fond of the idea of arthur returning to complete the prophecy as the once and future king of camelot in the 21st century and scaring the shit out of an immortal merlin. I don't think it will realistically ever happen in a merlin adaption (at least not bbc), as the arthurian legends are traditionally tragedies, but as a fan concept I really love it.

As for your bonus question!! I think he would be so down bad for hotels actually. Or like a good motel? The man is always out on his little missions with merlin + the knights and they sleep out in the forest because they have to. And while I personally love a good campout, arthur is royalty and seems really fond of his big fluffy bed (as seen from the many scenes in which he is laying in it in the show), therefore I surmise that he would adore a good hotel.

Sorry that i rant but i just ahave to tell someone.

People on tumblr are weird. Some feel entitled to fics and i fucking hate it. There are the people that think they can request "female readers" when the author clearly states that they don't write that and then they have the audacity to be mad about it? Like i get that sometimes it can be a mistake, i requested a fic for characters the author didn't write, i apologized because i mistook them for another author and i moved on. But i don't get how people can be so mad that you don't write for female readers.

And then there are people that just insult authors???? Like if you didn't like the fic just don't move on?? It's a fanfic, it doesn't have to be like you imagined, people like different things, if you don't like smut don't read it and don't bother the author.

And please please please tag your fics right. It doesn't hurt you, it makes everyone more comfortable . There's nothing wrong with it so please just do it

Oh my god you're so fucking real. if I could somehow reblog this 40 times over I absolutely would. theres definitely some people in the world who need to be humbled. like, being on the internet doesn't give you the right to demand something. Writers put out content you can enjoy, but you don't get to command they write For You In Particular. Even if they take requests. You can ASK if they can write your thing, but if they don't, just find someone else who will or do it yourself. Also thank you sm !! I've been really stressed over school lately and kinda lost steam for a little while. Thinking about going back to it!

I think I'm at a 4 right now, there's definitely some things I need to improve on but I am quite proud of what I write.

i completely cleared out my ao3 before starting to write repugnant/ghost fics but i had a dream smp danganronpa crossover fic. i read it again at the start of this year and it wasn't bad per se, it just was not who i was as a person anymore.
