I’ve seen a lot of jokes about Frankie seeing the Gwen android and being like “oh that’s gore that’s gore of my comfort character” but I think it’s really cool how that is not her actual mentality even a little bit. She sees that android and the immediate thing she thinks is “damn I don’t recognize what model she is” like she still has just as much love and care for it as she would for any other version of Gwen cause after all the princesses is the princess even if she’s old and broken she’s still has worth to Frankie and I just think that’s really lovely. Frankie says “That’s my comfort character, though I don’t fully recognize her it’s unquestionably her so I’ll give her the love she deserves.”

Every time someone characterizes Beast as just a hungry mindless animal an angel loses its wings. Like when she eats you she literally tells you so clearly that she’s doing this because she believes it will let her open the door and give her the freedom she craves were you not listening. All she wants is to get out of the cage she’s been trapped in and because you gave up last time she knows she can overpower you to get out.

The thing that I feel like people miss when they say stuff like “Damsel’s an entirely hollow character with no personality.” “Damsel is nothing more than a mirror for your desires.” “Damsel’s only a real person in the lead up to Happily Ever After.” you know etc.. etc.. is that as much as Damsel is affected by all the shallowness and simplicity that comes from you deciding “of course we have to save her she’s a princess” she is also a reflection of the kindness you show her by deciding that “of course we have to save her she’s an innocent person locked in a basement.”

With that in mind it makes sense that she’s nothing but kind to you you’ve shown her nothing but kindness in turn. Of course she trusts you the main thing you did last time was trust her completely and decided that she deserves to be saved. In fact in some variations of her chapter she doesn’t even know that you were sent here to slay her just that you saved her so literally why would she not be kind to and trust the person who’s already shown they want to save her.
