I haven’t watched The Idea of You yet, but it’s interesting that you found the music lacking. Did you see the interview that Savan Kotecha and Carl Falk gave to GQ about writing the music for the movie?
Oooh, thanks for this link, it actually explains some of the problems I had with the music, especially with how bland/dated it sounds. Arguably the best song, Guard Down (which should be the title, I cannot for the LIFE OF ME, get the movie title right first time), sounds like an AI version of Bruno Mars/Locked Out of Heaven. The rest of the songs just sound [to me] like the fake music you'd see in a Hallmark movie or Disney channel show where they don't want anyone to sniff a song that sounds like some other song, yet also very AI-ish, soulless, not created by human hands. But getting back to that dated sound, it also underlines the weird timeline disconnect I had with this band in general (are they the biggest band in the world? why are they at coachella at this stage in their career? who's their audience? pick a goddamned lane or hire a beta reader, lmao). That article, though, okay, GOT IT, some dudes wrote it, some dudes who had their heyday 10-15 years ago and phoned this in, but whither the female pop songwriters? This movie managed to get the rights to a Fiona Apple song AND a St. Vincent song (and Annie H), but they couldn't ask Amy Allen to crank something out for this fake boyband? Because I think that would have been way, wayyyy better
"You picked up Harry's shampoo and ran it through your hair, washing away any bad feelings in the process. The shampoo smelt like coconut and pineapple - it smelt like Harry. Tilting your head back, again, you allowed the shampoo to wash out by itself before tangling your own fingers through it to complete rid it of soap suds. This moment was so peaceful and so calming, you never wanted it to end. Visiting your dad, whilst you thought might've been a good idea, really had not been. "
building off that last one i could see y/n doing the tiktok prank where it’s like your partner keeps trying to hold your hand but you keep letting go
stop y/n would be obsessed doing these tiktok pranks!!! harry would get to a point where he knows it’s for a tiktok and would be pranking you too, giving you the silent treatment and you’d be really worried and upset whilst trying to apologise - whilst harry is secretly filming his own tiktok video in revenge. well… he’s recording the footage but will get his assistant to create the video. he wouldn’t talk to you until the video is released and then you’d have a pretend physical fight over how both of you are as tormenative as the other 😭😭
Ummm that person that you responded to about the latest blurb you wrote wasn’t the person who requested it, I was. I absolutely adored it and it was just what I was picturing. Thank you so much for writing it, I didn’t think you were lol. I loved all the detail and amount of angst there was. Thanks again and have a great rest of your day
thank you so much my lovely <333 this is very sweet of you and i’m glad that, seeing as you requested it, loved it that’s all i ever wanted to succeed at!! i was so happy with what i wrote so i’m glad that you were too xx have a lovely day too you angel!! <33

You were spoilt rotten.
All you could see was perfection; a luxurious villa, the white sands of a beach, the turquoise glow of the sea and of course your glowing husband. He was the reason that you were spoilt rotten actually.
The last year and a half had been spent indoors, staying well clear of the coronavirus. You weren’t willing to take any chances what with your little loves. You’d spend everyday together and absolutely loved if, even if the kids did drive you up the walls sometimes. They were always causing trouble, but only because there was limited areas for them to release steam and energy. Harry was cautious of taking them to the park as it was a high-risk area to catch or transmit covid.
That’s why when Italy had been given the green-light Harry had taken the first opportunity to book a family vacation. He still was taking no chances with anything. He chuffing bought a villa so he knew it would be just yours and yours alone, along with a housemaid to make sure it was clean when you weren’t there. He made sure to abuse his rich privilege and use a private jet company to transport you all, so you didn’t have to sit next to random people. The villa he’d bought also had a private pool and beach, so there was less reason for you to travel to public places. He was just nervous for you all, especially you.
Unfortunately, you had caught covid when you were pregnant with Belle and it had been really scary for everyone. Luckily, you and the baby managed to come around and get over the unforgiving virus, but ever since Harry had been so very cautious. You knew why and you loved him for that.
You certainly couldn’t complain what with this view, now.
The summers heat was at its’ peak and the sky was icy blue. Not a cloud in sight to create stories with, just the odd bird passing overhead or a stray plane that flew high in the atmosphere.
You were currently bathing on the sun bed next to the pool, catching a few rays before you had to go inside an make lunch for you all. Harry was currently messing around in the pool with Oli and Flix - in the smaller kids pool that had luckily been a bonus with the house. It was only very shallow, so if the boys wanted to play around without you and Harry in the pool you’d feel comfortable letting them. You could hear them shrieking and laughing together and it made you smile, as you let your skin soak in the burning rays of the Italian sun.
“Oi, Oliver no.” Harry sternly shouted, making you sit up and look over at where the fuss was coming from. You saw Oli stood very guiltily next to his brother who looked confused.
“What happened?” You asked.
“This cheeky monkey pushed his brother under the water.” Harry chased after Oli after he’d checked that Fix was okay.
“I’m sorry Fix. Sorry daddy.” Oli screamed as he was being chased by his dad. He was an absolute tyrant. They both were as bad as each other. Felix had once stolen Oli’s lego action figures and disembodied them all and coloured over their clothes in sharpie - Harry was not too happy to have to replace £100s worth of Lego, but anything to keep his children happy.
“The water monster is gonna get you now!” Harry caught up to Oli and scooped him up so he was dangling upside in Harry’s arms. You laughed at the sight and took out your phone to take some pictures of the happy moment. Felix was chasing after his dad, Harry pretending that the scarier water monster was after him.
“Daddy help!” Oli giggled, finding everything hilarious.
“Oh no the bigger water monster got me!” Harry slowed down to let Felix grab at his legs and put Oli carefully down in the water, before collapsing himself into the pool. When Harry laid down in the pool he could sit his bum down and still have his head peak out of the surface. His position allowed his sons to jump and clamber on him safely.
“We got you daddy!” Felix laughed, trapping his arm with all his tiny might.
“Oh no someone help me!” Harry pretended he was stuck and couldn’t save himself, when in reality if he wanted to scoop up his sons and escape the water he definitely could do.
“No daddy! No one can save you!” Oli took ahold of his dads legs and sitting on top of them.
“Mummy can help though.” Felix pointed out to Oli as if he were stupid.
“Yes mummy can! Save me mummy!” Harry pretended to be drowning and dunked his head under the water the best he could, playing along with whatever game his children had invented in the pool. It was a different game everyday. Yesterday had been mermaids and the day before that it had been similar to that of ‘Luca’ - due to that being their favourite movie at the moment.
“Mummy you have to save him!” Oli giggled at his dad, struggling to keep himself balanced on Harry’s wobbling legs.
You gave into your boys, not being able to say no to their precious faces. You checked your sleeping daughters pram once before going over to your boys, making sure she was still asleep and not fussing. She was as still as tree with no wind. You pulled up your bikini bottoms a bit and walked over towards your children, noticing how Harry was now whispering to them in secret, plotting something.
You stepped into the pool and found it so cold, especially after just baking in the sun like a roast potato in an oven.
“Oh my…” You gasped, the cold feeling shooting up through your entire body. It was like a shock of uncomfortable electricity through your body, but then again when would it ever be comfortable?
“Okay…” You heard Harry speak quietly, but loud enough for you to hear, “Now!” He shouted, which made you jump with fright. Your two sons charged at you and used their tiny hands to scoop water and throw it over you, making you gasp and scream at the intense coolness taking over your body.
“Aahh!” You tried to run away from them, but you didn’t get very far because you instantly ran into a hard and wet chest. Fuck sake, you knew what was coming next because he’d done it so many times before. “Harry no!” You squealed as he picked you up, with no hesitation, bridal style and out of the tiny pool and towards the main pool. You tried to wiggle from his grasp but you couldn’t get very far at all. “Harry put me down.”
“No can do Mrs. Orders from your children directly.” He smirked, squeezing your waist just because he could.
“Oh screw you.”
“You can do that later.” He winked at you and before you knew it you were both lifted into the air and plummeting towards the pool. You screamed, whilst everyone else laughed. You hoped that your sons wouldn’t try and follow you into this pool, because they couldn’t swim without armbands yet. Harry had been very clear about that though, so hopefully it would be okay.
The coldness overtook your entire body and you were disoriented as to where you had landed. Before you had time to swim to the surface, Harrys arm had reached out for you and pulled you out of the water swiftly. Your hair was slick back against your hair now, whilst his all stuck to his forehead. “You good?” Harry asked, raising one leg to bend so you could sit on it and wipe you eyes clean and get your breathe back to its’ original tempo.
“Hate you.” You laughed, turning in relief to see your sons standing laughing at the side of the pool. Phew.
“No you don’t.” He smiled smugly, using the water to his advantage and squeezing your bum with his ringer hand. You skimmed your teeth with your tongue and raised your eyebrows at him, because of course he knew you didn’t hate him. How could you, when he gave you all this and so, so, much more?
“No. I fucking love you.” You cupped his cheeks and kissed him hard, hearing your sons make uncomfortable noises at the sight of their parents kissing.

The day had finally arrived for Harry Styles to complete the 73 Questions with Vogue.
It had come to be the promo for ‘Don’t Worry Darling’ and his schedule was booked with interview after interview after interview, and it wasn’t ideal for this to all be happening months whilst also having to look after three meddling toddlers, one of whom had only recently turned 1 years old.
The house was chaos. Fun, but chaos. And it was also the setting of this interview.
“Alright you lot, this way.” You shoved your children along to your living room, giving Harry the space he needed with Joe Sabia - the interviewer.
“Thank you love, see you later.” He blew a kiss to you and returned his focus to Joe. This interview was the first of many and it was also a major marketing ploy. These types of interviews were so highly recommended for Harry to be involved in and Jeff had thought it was about time for him to do one.
Joe had arrived around 15 minutes ago, just to
run over the script and remind Harry of the pre-determined questions - which reminded him of the answers that you’d run through with him the night before. Now the cameras were set up, the mic people were all at stand-by and Joe was ready it was time to begin. The children had been so fascinated by all these new people, after not seeing anyone for months due to the coronavirus pandemic, which is why it took a lot of trouble to get them to shuffle away from their beloved dad.
A fake door knock arose.
“Harry Styles hello!”
“Hi!” Harry waved at the camera.
“I’m here to do the Vogue 73 Questions, shall we get to it?”
“Of course! Come in!” Harry welcomed Joe into the house and shut the door behind him, not trusting his little ones to not escape if they were running wild.
“Beautiful house! Is it your only one?”
“No, but it’s my only one in London.” Harry made a point of not exploiting how many houses he did have and where they were. In fact, you still didn’t know about the Island that he was currently investing in just for you. You were a huge conservation activist and so Harry thought you could spend your free time helping the fragile ecosystem on this island.
“Did you design it yourself?”
“Me and my wife built the plans, but we go the experts to finish it all off.”
“What’s your favourite room?”
“Um, probably the living room.”
“Why?”
“So many of my favourite memories have happened in there.”
“Could you give us some?”
Harry could give loads, but they were far too precious for him to just give away. The living room wasn’t even a massive room, it was quite quaint with a couple of sofas, a logwood fire and then rugs and paintings on the walls. It was a home within a home. It was where Felix had taken his first steps. It was where Oli had spoken his first words. It was where Belle had fallen over for the first time and given herself nasty carpet burn. It was where presents were opened at Christmas. It was where you and Harry had made love next to the fire. It was where Felix and Oli had had their first tiny argument. It was where you spent family nights. If your house was a map then that room marked X the spot.
It was treasure. Priceless.
“My favourite would probably be when my wife, Y/N, spilt red wine all over the new white carpet and then proceeded to throw white wine over the stain because she’d read somewhere that it helps to get rid of it.” Harry chuckled at the memory.
“Did it?”
“No, God no. The carpet’s grey now.”
Joe laughed, as did Harry.
“I have to say Harry, you’re looking very fashionable today who are you wearing?”
“Gucci.” He blushed, because he knew that everyone would’e known that without question. He was wearing a lilac silk shirt with his name embroidered on it - but really it was to symbolise your last name not his - with a white wife-beater shirt and white shorts. He looked rich.
“Shouldn’t have asked really? Is your wife as much a Gucci avid fan?”
“She hates anything expensive. I think she still wears the same jeans she was wearing at university!” He knew you’d hit him later for saying that.
“So she’s a hoarder?”
“God yeah. She keeps everything and anything.” Harry laughed in admiration.
“Has she always been?”
“Always. When we went on our first date, her bag was so full that she couldn’t find her purse and she was so embarrassed because she thought I would think she was taking advantage of who I was. Anyways I did end up paying that night, but she had actually, I don’t know how, sent me money for her portion of the bill. From that moment I knew it was going to be her.”
“Do you write songs about her?
“Every day.” He smiled at the thought of the one he’d written just this morning.
“Which one is your favourite about her?”
“I don’t know about favourite, but the one I hold closest to my heart is probably ‘Fine Line’.” Harry stopped there, not wanting to share the intimate details of why and Joe respected that.
“Do your children have a favourite song of yours?”
“They go crazy for Kiwi and Golden. Belle loves Treat People and Oli knows the dance to that one actually.”
“Did you choreograph the dance for TPWK?”
“Partially, but I had help from my friend Paul and Y/N helped too actually.”
Harry and Joe had now made it through the house, weaving in and out of rooms, until they had made it to the Garden. Unfortunately, you’d forgotten to shut the bifold doors to the living room and so as soon as Harry came into focus for your children they immediately ran for him. Oli and Felix could run quite well, but Belle was a lot slower. She was only learning how to walk and so she fell a lot, unless she was being supported by you or Harry. Oli reached his dad first and then Felix, to which Harry knelt down to embrace them in ‘super-dad’ hugs as he liked to call them.
“And who do we have here?” Joe asked.
“Trouble.” Harry replied in jest, but whispered something into his boys ears before backing away.
“Hello i’m Oli.” Oli waved proudly to the camera.
“Hi i’m Fix.” Feliz shied into his dads neck, embarrassed of himself. Harry kissed the back of his head and kept a hold oh him around his back for comfort.
“Fix?” Joe asked at the peculiar name.
“It’s Felix, but he can’t pronounce his own name for some reason so we just call him Fix now. Or Flix. Don’t we buddy?”
“Oh my! I’m so sorry about this!” You ran out in panic, knowing your one job was to keep the kids entertained and away from their dad. At least that was the original plan, but both Harry and Joe like this idea so much more. You were blushing red in embarrassment, picking up a fallen over Belle on your way over to everyone else. “So sorry.”
Belle became restless in your arms, reaching forward for her dad. She whined when she couldn’t quite reach and Harry immediately stood up to take his winging daughter from your arms. As he did, he leant into you and whispered in your ear whilst leaving it a warm kiss behind.
“You’re okay love. Don’t be sorry.”
“Hello Y/N!” Joe spoke.
“Hiya! How are you?”
“I’m great, and you?”
“Peachy.” You laughed, leaning down to collect Felix who was making grabby hands at you. Oli was quite happy standing next to both his parents, one of Harrys hands running through his tiny locks of hair.
“So now we have the family together, how do you feel to all be together?”
You looked to Harry smiled to find him smiling back already at you, knowing you both had a very similar answer. “It feels right. It feels like home.” You answered and Harry nodded in agreement, giving Belle a gentle rock in his arms.
“Are you okay with showing your children’s faces publicly?”
“No we’re not.”
“Looks like we have a hell of a lot of editing to do back at HQ.” Joe laughed, but completely understood the reasoning behind yours two decision. If needed, you could re-film scenes of this interview so that it didn’t include your children. Joe had done his best to keep the camera on you and Harry and luckily the children kept their faces buried in their parents necks anyways. “Is that going to be forever?”
“When they are old enough to decide whether they want to be in the spotlight then we’ll see.” Harry smiled, holding onto Belle tighter because all he wanted to do was keep her protected, and his, forever.
“You two seem like very good parents.” Joe spoke sincerely, and it made you swallow down a sob because it was always really lovely to hear such compliments - knowing you’d struggled with postnatal depression.
“Thank you Joe.” Harry nodded respectfully.
“Okay let’s carry on?”
The interview carried on until Harry had answered so many questions. He redid bits, due the children being too involved and he re-filmed answers to questions he found difficult to answer the first time around. He had such a great experience and was happy with the way that the day turned out.
