Do you have an essay where you talk about Olivia's views? I just read one of your essay's on Kiara, where you brought up Olivia's views on art and found them narrowminded. I agree, by the way. Olivia's constant obsession with war kind of bothers me.

I don't have any essays that talk about Olivia exclusively, but she does come up in a few essays. I simply don't find her compelling enough to explore on her own. While there is potential in her story, I feel like she's turned into a caricature tbh. Very little of her writing is actually cohesive or makes sense when put together (eg her being hailed as this "great spy" when she just collects info then sits on it).

I do speak of her in some detail in two essays, but mostly when I'm exploring the discrepancies between the way white women in court are treated vs WOC, or her position as alternative LI for Liam. Here they are if that will interest you:

1. Liam and Olivia from my essay series TRR's Alternative LIs: The "Romances" that Didn't Happen

2. Power Dynamics: The Ladies of the Court from my essay series Hana Lee: A Study in Erasure.

Her views do come up in both these essays, mostly in juxtaposition to Liam's/Hana's and how their perspective is often viewed with scant respect while hers is constantly praised and extolled.

And yeah, Olivia's constant knife gags tend to tire one out after a while. The funniest part is that I'm pretty sure it was something they only seriously started in the second book, because she's mostly catty and jealous and hankering after Liam in the first, with a few tidbits of solidarity with the MC. I think the most hilarious thing about it was how the writers tried to retcon her ancestor Zenobia into some kickass warrior when everyone who remembers TCaTF knows that this woman valued shopping and her elaborate hairdo far far more 🤣🤣

How and when were you introduced to the bionic world? And how long after were you introduced to the superhero world?

Donald needed help with a medical issue for one of the kids and couldn’t think of anyone else he could trust, since he already knew me though he hadn’t talked to me in a while. I went to college with him and Douglas, although I never knew why Douglas dropped out of Med School because we weren’t in the same classes.
