I've always been under the impression that as long you are either an ace queer or trans person you're in the community but if you aren't either you're not, is this wrong?

Yes, it’s wrong.

If you’re ace, you’re a part of the community, regardless of what gender you prefer.

The LGBTQIA+ community is for anyone other than cisgender, straight individuals. Asexuality is not “straight”, nor is aromanticism. It’s just the same as how a non-gender conforming individual is not cis.

I’m panace leaning heavily towards same-sex attraction. I am a part of the asexual and LGBTQIA+ community, and I would never look down on a “straight” asexual because they prefer opposite-sex relationships; they’ve still gone through hardships regarding their sexuality and have had to come out just the same as I have.
