Interrogation (Maria Hill and Jane Foster)
2011. Puente Antiguo, New Mexico.
Jane got that there was an official angle to it, but they'd had a deal. Coulson gave her the equipment back, she got the funding and the satellite codes. She had a couple of days to set everything up in the lab.
Then she'd answer questions.
Coulson, however, had flown out quickly. Another agent had apparently come in his place to question her. Looking over each piece of fancy equipment, Jane walked through her updated, upgraded lab, with hands folded. This was the best of the best--items she'd modified combined with Stark tech and the best S.H.I.E.L.D. had to offer. If she could find the Einstein-Rosen bridge again and perhaps coax it to re-open, this was the way.
Once she was sure everything was set up, she took a seat in her comfortable new office chair. It was big for her--she was pretty small of course--and she tucked her legs up under her and curled up in the chair. She lifted her journal from the table. Her fingers went immediately to that same page, tracing over the lines of what Thor had called Yggdrasil, his sketches drawn alongside hers. The lines were more confident; he had been sure about himself and what he was talking about. Her lines were sketchy and wandering, but at some places on the page, they'd met. She placed her finger on one such place before she even realized she was about to be interrupted.
